Your local Ace hardware or even some stores like lowes and bome depot, Fastenal if there is one nearby. Mcmaster Carr has everything, but I buy local when I can.

You may be able to pick that up at an Ace Hardware or similar. You may save some weight with Nylon, but the volume is such that the weight savings would be negligible.

If you use McMaster Carr you could get 4/40 or 2/56 threaded rod if wanted really small...

#6 hardware is smallest I find in the Big Box stores. Anything less (like #4/40 and #2/56), requires a trip to a specialty store or mail order.

Local hobby store is where I get my small stuff.
This. 2-56 and 4-40 hardware is standard issue for linkages on most larger R/C planes.

Maybe. You can certainly find it at Slot & Wing in Champaign, IL. If you can't find it at a big box store or your LHS, then get it here: https://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-threaded-rods/=ymgoxg. It's pretty standard stuff and not hard to find.
