Belated Hi :) One thing you will find there can be a lot of problems with the swept fin design, especially on heavier airframes. I had an old NCR Eliminator that broke the fins off regularly. I mostly scratch build rockets and the vast majority do not have swept fins. Now, I do find it odd that all of yours have the same damage in the same place. I would have to go along with the streamer isn't enough to slow it down enough for a soft landing on a hard surface. I'd bet the problem disappears with the 6" chutes you got.

Now, as to what to take with you to a launch. I like a golf umbrella or patio shade but what I use is a Pop-Up canopy and a small table. Ice cold water goes a long way to keeping up the interest of the little ones and keep the sessions short, especially on hot days. Don't make them unhappy to go out to launch and it will remain a hobby you can share for years :)
