Before it was plain white and the lines were tangled:



Then we died it green and replaced the lines with black paracord:



 
Flare chutes typically have no UV blockers in the materials they are made of. This is so the will degrade to dust after intended use.
They should be stored away from sunlight. The exposure during use is not long enough to be an issue.
They are good chutes, I have used many and they reside in an ammo can when not in rocket.

will dying the chutes protect them from the sunlight?
 
I doubt it would do much.
Just keep it out of sunlight when storing and it will be ok.
If you throw it on the bench in front of a window or on the back seat of the car it will degrade fast.
