can I import a 3d fin drawing into open rocket or construct a 3d fin with open rocket ?

I looking to insert a swept back "wedge" type fin into the build

Thanks

As much as I'd love to able to do this... Sadly, at this time the answer is: No.

To FAKE a 3D shape, you could make a fin that is extremely thin (say 1/32" thick) then use another fin (say 3/32" thick) that has the shape of the widest part of the actual fin. This will likely not give you accurate numbers for your flight characteristics, but it is useful to create renderings of your fin. A prime example of this is how I did my Velociraptor Downscale's Talon Fins...

Binder Design Velociraptor (BT-60 Downscale)(Two Stage)

I did the "core" of the talons in grey to help visually set them off from the outer surface of the fins.

Here's the actual fins (which were composed of 3 layers of 1/32" aircraft ply (birch).

One other plus side to this... If you were to print the fin templates from OR, you'll get your "core" and "outer" shapes, so that can help your building.

Good Luck!
Jim
