    Got my L1 cert yesterday

So, I obtained my L1 cert yesterday with the SSS Rocketry guys. I used a 4" Madcow Patriot on an Aerotech H180W. Here's the album. https://www.flickr.com/gp/bigangryscot/ahCoW7

    And a few notables:

Curious, this last picture looks like the shock cord is outside the lower airframe opening. Was it attached on the outside?

    Congrats!!

Tim, the paint held up great. I'm glad I had it cleared with automotive clear.

Will, I blew up the picture and you're right! The shock cord is "outside" the body tube. It hooked on the upper rail button during ejection.

Congratulations! I'm hoping to make a launch with the SSS group soon too. Just need my schedule to free up on their monthly launch schedule.

Not for my L1, <<yet>> - but just to get active with a club.

Great job. You can have a lot of fun at the L-1 level. No need to rush to L-2. Enjoy all the levels.

Thanks, everyone. Especially to you, Guy! Guy was kind enough to lend me his 38 to 29mm motor adapter so I could get another flight in, as well as rescuing me with a twiggy igniter when an aerotech igniter failed. Who knew my buddy would bring the one 38mm rocket he has...
