Anyone ever launch at Friends of Amateur Rocketry, and able to share the experience or some intel? They have a launch scheduled tomorrow on their calendar. Can one simply show up with fee cash in hand on launch day?

With Dairy Aire flooded, a number of us would take more drastic than usual measures to get some flights in.

So, watermelonman,
Tell us the story of going to FAR cold. Did you get in? How are the facilities? Taco truck on site?

Yes! It was amazing. No food or rocket vendor, bring it all, do it all yourself. There are plenty of benches, assembly areas, and bunkers though. Also 110VAC power for your tools!

I am not kidding about the bunkers! You can view liftoff nice and close if you want to get inside one.

Next up, Dark Star on I470. Plenty of kick, but keeping it low for first flight.

After I detached the airframe, Cowboy Dave helps bring the rest down with expert rock tossing.

Final flight, Nike Smoke on J270 shakedown before the big K2045 in a few weeks. Straight and true, though my action photography leaves much to be desired.

That bug sure chose a poor place to hang out for the launch. I imagine he is still on the blast deflector, in some form or another.

Wait, I'm not seeing any video...the pictures are nice! LOL, so I don't have to be embarrassed when my rockets find the "tree alternatives" out there...

Another possibility for viewing is to navigate to vimeo.com and add 128268477 after the slash. I think the forum eats it when I post direct links, still.
