Thumbs up Two PAC-3 ERINT scale models

Got a wild hair today and built a couple of PAC-3 ERINT scale models. The dimensions are based on information provided by David Shultz.

    Here they are...

The top is a BT-80 version that has a 24mm MM, is 52" long and only ways just over 6 oz. The lower is the BT55 version with an 18mm MM, that is ~27 long and weighs just under 2 oz.

    Build pics to follow.

(Astute observers will note that the aft fins on the BT80 version may look a bit strange. This is because I papered them after they were attached to the airframe and haven't trimmed the paper yet. Will explain during the build thread.)

    Thanks!

Yes, I used 1/8 balsa for both, since that is what I had laying around but 1/16 basswood would look much better on the BT55 version. So If I build it again, or release it as a kit, that is what it will probably have. The balsa also keeps the mass down on the BT80 version, since the intent was to be able to fly it on D12's.

Thanks Layne.I was actually thinking Basswood myself for both versions and use 24mm reloads ,so wieght would not be too much of an issue. But then again ,depending on my level of procrastination and the timeline of you making these kits available
