Hello
I am custom building a reusable nozzle, and I was wondering which type of steel bar stock to purchase. I may purchase a High Temperature 309 Steel Bar. However, the nozzle will have to be bored from a lathe, and this type of steel is not easily machined. I did not choose graphite, because it is extremely expensive and messy to work with. The nozzle dimensions are roughly 1 1/2" x 3."
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

We do not use steel nozzles in sport rocketry, nor is the building of amateur motors appropriate for discussion in the public propulsion forum. If you are a high power certified senior member of NAR or TRA, and a US citizen you can request access to the private Research forum where such topics are discussed.
