A lot.

Now, you have 2 options. 1, come to LDRS peacefully. 2, come to LDRS tied up in vinyl in the back of some rocketeers trunk.

Make your pick. :p

Hummm... dont tease me with a good time..

If someone is coming from this end of town that I can ride with I will go!!! beyond that there is not a lot I can promise!

I wish it was closer you guys on the other side of the country know how to have a rocket launch! and maybe a labotamy

Hey Mark,,,
Do you attend Airfest with Cloudbusters in Kansas ???

Teddy

It is a bucket list venue. Drove 32 hours straight to get to LDRS 30. For a true adventure, stay in the Americas Best Value Inn in Wellington KS.

Mark,,
I've been told that the field and surrounding area is just amazing...
And so is the launch...
All I ever hear is wonderful things about the entire event and the hosting club...
I'd really like to make Airfest this year...

How about it...
I'll meet you there...
I think it'd be closer for you then it is for me...
I'm 1450 I think...

Teddy

Airfest is 1000 miles from Goodyear, AZ. and it is our absolute "MUST GO TO LAUNCH"! Got a little windy on the last day last year, but we still flew a bunch of rockets and had a wonderful time doing it.

They have rods and rails for just about anything:

I'm guessing the waiver will be higher at Airfest than at LDRS... It's also more than twice as far to Potter, NY than it is to Argonia, KS.

How is the entire field and area Wayne ???
I was told for miles and miles around
the entire area was just made for launching and recovering rockets....
My buddy Fred T had me look on a map...
Everything is laid out in a grid..
I would absolutely love to meet all of you guy's from out west...
It sure is a long trip though..

I'm going to quietly keep working on Mark H....lol....
Are you going to make Airfest this year Wayne ??
That is exactly what everyone that has attended has said,,,
An absolute go to launch........

it's plowed corn fields (aka squishy dirt making for some nice soft landings if needed).
only thing to watch out for are the power lines that are close to the main road on the left and some left over twig scruff.

Let us know if you're able to convince stickershock!!:cool::cool:

I am gently nudging him as we speak....lol.....
I really want to make Airfest this year and this is the only year my buddy Fred T won't be able to go....
He has family stuff going on.....

You may have forgotten the thread I posted up about last years trip, so here is a link:
https://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?69259-Reflections-on-Airfest-XX

There are several pictures of the area in that thread, and an amazing video of my "Red Tailed Extreme" L3 flight that shows the fields from 13k ft.
It would take an act of God to keep us from attending this years Airfest. Right now we are dealing with a tranny problem in our 1998 GMC Sierra. It might cost more than the truck is worth to fix it, but that won't stop us. Might have to strap some rockets on the roof of our Toyota Forerunner, but we will be there...

That's funny Wayne,,,
Some trouble with your truck...
No big deal...
You'll find a way to make it...
I really love that shot of your truck and trailer...
That looks super cool to me
and I know my wife would be all for it,,
the biggest thing stopping me is I don't have a place to store / park it at my home...

Very cool Wayne...
