So can I buy one of them from Balsa Machining Service?

And do I get the 20% discount if I pre-order?

Anybody get a video? I wanted to watch it, but was in Algebra...

Nate

AT about 5 seconds after it lite there is something moving away from the motor on the ground. Looks like a animal of some sorts. Did anyone else see it. well its there look. It's walking towards the black pole in the middle of the vid. Looks like it may have come out of the area of the red tank.

Yep, I watched it a few times. It does appear to be an animal in the way it moves. I couldn't imagine the noise level. Probably fatal after a short amount of time?

I you're referring to the white shape in front of the reddish tank, it moves along slowly and evenly, so I think it's either some tracked instrumentation that has a view of the motor casing and is traveling along it or it's some trash trapped on the fence wires and traveling along them through the action of fence wire vibration from the noise and the airflow towards the base of the booster caused by the exhaust.

Interesting new video about igniting this:

Lots of control system images and mentions of specific improvements over shuttle SRBs:

I was lucky enough to attend this test yesterday, and tour the Orbital ATK facilities the day prior. What an amazing experience! It's quite a process mixing and casting those booster sections (for each one, it takes around forty 600 gallon bowls of propellent). Anyway, there were many former astronauts there as well, including Brian Duffy and Stan Love (quite an animated speaker!).

I know NASA has me beat in the photography department, but regardless, here is my personal video of the test from the media site. We also got to go check out the booster after the firing (seen in video clip).

How far away would you say you were? How did it sound? Thanks for sharing!
