I've been using the 22 ga hookup wire from RadioShack. But if you want that, you better hurry up, or wait until the going out of business sale.
 
Any preference to single strand or twisted strand?

This is an opinion-thing... Personally I use 22awg solid. In a fault situation, I prefer to have a clean break that I can easily trace/troubleshoot versus a gradual degradation of the connection inherent with stranded. Saying that, others prefer the opposite, i.e., having a greater chance of maintaining at least some continuity in a fault situation--if you are of the second mindset then use stranded.
 
22 Gage solid. Ematch leads. New wires every flight eliminates the fatigue failure problem.
