Yep... we tend to think of the speed of light as some incredibly fast speed, but actually in the grand scheme of things, considering cosmic distances, it's pretty pathetically slow...

Just goes to show how INCREDIBLY SMALL we are in the grand scheme of things, actually...

BTW, there was a "lightspeed button" in that "scale model of the solar system" someone posted awhile back... you could hold the lightspeed button down (little "c" button near the lower righthand corner of the screen) and it would scroll through space at the speed of light... course it would take you forty-five minutes for it to scroll itself to Jupiter in the scale model doing that, so scrolling with your thumbwheel was actually MUCH faster...
