LSM9DS1 Accelerometer, Gyro and Magnetometer

8g is really not enough for rocketry applications...

Yup that could be a problem. We also have the LSM9DS0 which goes to 16g which would more appropriate. You can view that here: https://www.nordevx.com/content/lsm9ds0-accelerometer-magnetometer-and-gyro-one. That's the highest you can go with these ics that have magnetometer, gyro and accelerometer built in. But I will definitely look into accelerometer boards that can measure even higher g's.

FYI Pololu makes 10-degrees of freedom module with accelerometer, gyro, magnetometer and baro sensors. Good for 24g and 40kft.

It is also supported by RTIMUlib from richards-tech, so it can be used out of the box without writing much code. Fun stuff.

The 10-degrees of freedom module you linked to is only good for +-16g and consists of an
LSM303D accelerometer/magnetometer https://www.nordevx.com/content/lsm303d-accelerometer-and-magnetometer
L3G20H Gyro https://www.nordevx.com/content/l3gd20h-gyro
LPS25H Barometer https://www.nordevx.com/content/lps25h-barometer which funny enough we just added today : )

The difference is they put it in one board vs we have them all seperated. Also the LPS25H is limited more to around 30k feet.
