Estes E Controller Question

Would it be safe to convert the Estes E Controler from a battery powered unit to a lead that attaches to a 12v battery?
Such as a car, lawn tractor, etc. Possibly to have both battery power AND 12v leads?

No reason why not... The dinky flashlight bulb isn't designed for 12 volts but it should be okay for short durations... Just don't leave the key in for minutes at a time or something like that...

Replacing it with an LED pinball bulb would alleviate that problem as well...
