Now offering a package deal- one kit, one NARHAMS 50th Anniversary patch, plus 4 weeks of NARHAMS membership dues for $43, shipping included!

Will these be shipped to those who can not make it?

Kevin,

It might not be a bad idea to let people know more about the kit. What size motor? Looks like a two-stager. Is it? Etc. Thanks.

As designed it's a single stage model, with an 18mm motor mount. I'm sure the adventurous scratch builder/kitbashers will be able to make it into a 2 stager if they want. The lower tube is BT-60, and the upper tube is BT-55.

Here is a coloring sheet we made up as part of the design contest.

Here's a shot of my prototype going off of the rail.

As mentioned earlier, it is a single stage rocket. The first flight was done on a B6-4. The weight of the rocket in primer without a motor is 2.2 oz.

The prototype is flying with an Estes Bullpup nosecone. The kit will have a regular ogive balsa nose cone instead. As Kevin mentioned, this will be a limited run kit. We are only having 139 of them made, and they will be numbered. I believe we will be assigning numbers via a raffle for all of the prepaid orders. After that it will be first come, first served.

Here is the final color scheme that will be on the header card. The yellow on the fins will actually be gold Monokote that will be provided in the kit.

One of the cool design features is that the launch lugs are mounted inside the BT60 tube, for a nice clean look. An 1/8" rod will rub slightly on the BT-55, but it launches fine.

Also, because of the ducted nature of the BT-60 tube, you do get a cool wooshing sound on launch, kind of like one of those "Alien space noodle" toys that you swing around your head.

Now in color!

The colors are Duplicolor Light Slate Metallic and Electron Blue Pearl over a black primer.

We're still taking orders, and remember, all orders after 31 January increase to $30 each.

Big thanks to Jim Flis of FlisKits for making this happen for us.
