I have one of the 29/40-120 cases and I love the motor ranges I can buy for it. However in assembling smaller reloads, I thought the lack of full grain could produce a problem burning, much like this infamous video of a Cesaroni motor being fired with a spacer missing -

Well, since that does not happen all the time with 29/40-120 casings, why? Is the amount of propellant simply small enough to avoid this explosive failure, or is there something else at play?
