What kits do you still have around that aint been built yet?

The good news is that I refrained from buying two dusty Public Missiles kits I found on the Bay Area Rocketry trailer today. They weren't cheap but then again they are out of production.

I only have a 38mm Applewhite Stealth. It probably will stay there for a while too, I am just not motivated to build it.

Estes Patriot, Leviathan, and Flutterby. Wildman Darkstar 3 and Punisher.

The Patriot is a bit of an experiment with some low altitude electronics and other tricks. I am excited to share once it gets further along. The Leviathan figures to be my payload workhorse, while the other two will be my first fiberglass and first dual deployment jobs.

I recommend starting with the kids, then any in-laws, problem coworkers

My wife has accused me of being a rocket hoarder and I was beginning to believe her. Now that I see your stash I know I am not alone. I currently have 6 plastic bins full of 78 unbuilt kits. My fleet of completed rockets covers every ledge, table, and windowsill in our home. There are a lot of worse things we could be stockpiling!

Hey, if you're actually building them, it really is a build pile, not a hoard! I have four rockets on the go right now - 2 kits and 2 scratch builds.

Somewhere in my parents' house is an Estes D.A.R.T. kit that I bought back in '89 and never got around to building. Really hope I find it one day.

The short answer is "Most of them". The long answer is close to 150 IIRC.

I've made progress.

I gave away an Estes Mega Der Red Max that came from Fry's for $18 to a kid whose Minie Magg will require major work before it flies again.

My 2010 TCC October Skies LOC Commemorative is just about complete except for the "gilding the lily" part (tip-to-tip fiberglass). I converted it to dual deploy, built an alt-bay, added a payload bay, chopped the shoulder of the nose cone way back and added a bulk plate with forged eyebolt. Weather prevents me from doing the the fiberglass lamination in my unheated shop. Needs paint.

The Polecat Aerospace Goblin needs a couple of fin fillets and the converted nose cone altimeter bay needs to be epoxied and screwed into place. Anxious to get this one finished and painted.

Yet to do:

• Madcow Frenzy (unopened)
• Wildman Jart (original, unopened)
• Wildman BlackStar (unopened)
• Wildman Punisher (unopened)
• 4" tube fin (scratch build, tubes & fins cut, motor mount built, nose cone & cord mount done)

I've discovered that leaving the rockets in the shop doesn't get them built so have been spending some time EVERYDAY doing something/anything on rocket building.

Converting a previously built and zippered HPR tube fin scratcher to dual deploy has been consuming most of my time lately.

17 or so Estes kits (maybe half are OOP)
30 plus Semroc kits—and then I found another full box of Semrocs—probably twenty-some in there. I didn't count 'em.
Probably a dozen from other manufacturers.
A good stash of tubes and parts for repairs and pet/scratch projects.

I should get around to counting and listing them so I know what I have.

Just finished a Semroc Aphelion. I have an Estes V-2, Semroc/Centuri Firefly, Aero-Dart and Starfire in primer. In the middle of building a Semroc SLS Explorer.

Update: I did receive the G-Force and Warolck as gifts. But the G-Force did not stay in the pile long. I've actually built it and flown it. Yea! But I'm still fiddling with its paint and finish, so I haven't built anything else. The Warlock has been added to the pile.

I don't like to buy kits. I like to make a kit and build it .

Unfortunately, I suffer from the same delusion. I blame you.:duck:

I have more unbuilt kits than built rockets and have run out of room to store them. My wife say that I need less stuff. I think we need a bigger house.

Now I have my first HPR rocket under construction (there are other kits that are potentially HPR, but I'm not counting them because this one is actually intended for my L1 cert.) so the problem of storage is likely to get worse before it gets better.

I do have a couple boxes of non-rocketry stuff that I need to post on eBay...

What's a kit?....(pause)......(thinking).....OH....THOSE THINGS! Yeah, I still have one of those. That SR 71 Blackbird mentioned on page one. Hey, LW! You should prolly post a pic of your tub collection also. Him gotta lotta tubs of dat stuff. K'Tesh, you got nothin' on LW's collection. In fact, most people don't. I know. I have been through every single tub he's got, prior to his sale last year.....or was that the year before last? Geez!
