MDRA 12/6 launch at Higgs -- what time Saturday?

MDRA folks,

Anyone know what time the launch starts on Saturday, 12/6? I know there is a set-up day on 11/29, so is the actual launch an early start? Or does it start at noon like at Central?

The Facebook event says it starts at 10AM on Saturday, which is pretty normal from my long experience. I'm pretty sure help is always appreciated. IIRC, the one time there is a big organized set up before a launch is at the Red Glares. You can always email the powers that be.

You are very welcome. Bob doesn't seem to check his email all day long like I do.

Every launch that I've been to at Higgs starts some time after 10 AM.
If you get there before; you'd swear you were at the wrong field.

Whether there is a Red Glare or not, moving to Higgs is always a big setup since the nice thing about Tommys is that we leave the pads out in the field all winter so that all that has to be done on launch weekends is run the electronics out. Here's what Bob sent out the other day inregards to setup:
"On Saturday Nov 29 we will be setting up the launch equipment for the Dec launch. So if you come out and help you can work off that dinner. We plan to start about 10:00am, do the parking lot, place the pads, towers and run the launch equipment out to make sure we don’t have any problems."

I Should be there on the 29th to help setup, and fly on the 6th. Can't make it on the 7th, I'll be in Baltimore marching in the Mayor's Christmas Parade.

After missing the last two launches due to rain on Saturdays, I now face the issue of what to do with my kids. They are 5 and 3, and require a lot of attention. Their mom has a church breakfast thing to go to, which I encourage, but either I have to find a babysitter or take them with me. And if I take them with me, it is a huge distraction. Will be fun when they get older. Maybe I can find a teenager to go with me....

I have 2 8 year olds coming with me. Duct Tape works well on the little guys. It's not just for fixing pipes

That's how my brother and I got out of ever having to babysit my nephew again,,,,,,,,,,

When my sister got home his hands were tied behind his back and his feet were tied........

He thought it was hysterical.......

We were just going to gag him when she got home,,,,,,

The rest is history.......lol

One year I pulled in about 9:15 AM and there wasn't a car in the parking area.


Yes, I'll be there most likely Sat only.
I hope to squeeze a few more NS into 2014....

I'm going prepped for the Archer's K711 flight, keeping an eye on the weather. May just wind up picking up some motors and hardware if nothing else.

Weather forecast has improved a lot since earlier in the week. If it changes just a little more we may get 2 days of flying in with rain over night Saturday.

I'm seeing 90% chance of heavy rain Saturday and Saturday night on the NWS site.

Been too busy to finish repairs/builds this week, and with the iminent rain, I'll see you guys in January!

I, too. I don't mind cold, and I don't mind wet, but cold and wet -- uh-uh. The last clear Saturday launch we had was in August!

I really was looking forward to getting down to Higgs...
Some seriously cool flights,,
and hangin and laughin with all of you guys from MDRA....
The weather is just not doin it for this weekend..
I checked Wunderground and Accuweather...
Neither one look to hot..

I am really sorry,,,
I'm not going to make Higgs this weekend guy's....

We'll try again in January for sure...

Sunday not so bad but, I can't do Sunday.

Hopefully they'll have another Christmas tree launch in January, which I mussed last year. I'll take anything that's not raining or snowing.
