I have a 29/40-120 case on order. The after closure appears to be a slightly larger version of the 24/40 aft closure. The longer 29mm cases appear to have a different aft closure design than the 29/40-120. Can someone give me accurate dimensions on the OD and length of the knurled portion? I have a thread aluminum retainer I machined up for my 29mm rockets but didn't realize the aft closure on the other cases was so different. I want to see if it will work before I buy one and have to redesign the retention systems.

Keep in mind, the 29/40-120 cases are different than the other 29mm cases (29/120, 29/180, etc.). The aft closure on the Aerotech 29/40-120 isn't knurled, it has slots in it to be used with their special wrench. I haven't seen a Rouse-Tech 29/40-120, but I would imagine it's the same. The wrench fits both the 29/40-120 and the 24/40 cases.

Thanks. I need to look more closely at the AT site for those drawings

The Fwd and Aft closures on the 29/40-120 DO NOT fit ANY of the High Power style 29mm cases. NONE, NADA, ZILCH, NOT HAPPENING

The aft closure on the Hobby Line 29/40-120 aft closure is 1.230" OD X 0.250" in length while the normal Aft Closure dimensions for the 29 mm High Power Hardware is 1,250" OD X 0.368" in length.

I wasn't writing very clearly I guess. I know the 29/40-120 hardware is different form the normal 29 millimeter hardware. I am not attempting to mix the two. I have a retention device that works for the 24/40 and 29/40-120. I wanted to know the dimension of the HP 29mm after closure because I knew it was different. The drawing posted above had the dimensions I needed.

The Rouse 29/40-120 aft closure looks exactly like the Aerotech one I see in your pictures, but is black instead of gold. I have to imagine that the same wrench works perfectly.

Of course, the high power 29mm casings are a different animal.

I was in a hurry, so I am sorry if the post sounded snarky. Just wanted to ensure that somebody reading the thread didn't get the idea they would interchange.
Giant Leap made some of their 29MM Slimline snap ring retainers with two grooves to accommodate the different cases.
