I finished assembly on my scratch built 4" Phoenix Missile. It is 47.5 inches tall and has a 38mm motor mount. On an H242 it simed an altitude of 1500'. It has not been painted yet but I plan to start on that next week.

Here are a couple of pics.

Nice looking bird,
is it stretched a little bit ?

Can't wait to see it all painted...
:)

Good eye. It turns out to be a bout 6" too long. Thats ok it should fly nice any way. It makes a nice "Sport Scale" rocket.

Nice!

The BT wall thickness seems a bit thin, any recomendations on how to cut thin walled tubing for TTW fins?

OH! That baby is *crying* for a 54mm motor mount! Look at all that empty "centering ring space"!

The BT is standard LOC tubing. I used a sharp x-acto nife with multiple passes.

When I was playing around with the sim file I thought about putting a 54mm mount in it. Then when I simed on a small 38mm J motor and it went over 5000' at over mach 1, I new a 54mm MM was a little much.

Here she is with a few coats of white paint.:D
