I cloned the Proton Torpedo and also the Star Trek rocket (basically the same thing) It's an easy rocket to clone if you have a good color printer and the generic EX2 Estes rocket. I also used the Proton Torpedo decal on the launch probe for the Darth Vader's TIE Fighter.

I still fly my R2-D2 about once a year. It fly OK, but I have replaced the 'chute once and the elastic with braided nylon.

I have both of the X-Wings, but have not built either.
 
I have an R2-D2 modified from D/E engines, but a bit too scared to fly it...hear a few too many horror stories and scared of windage.

And apparently Estes took some artistic license. Since proton torpedoes comes in all sizes and forms, who's to say they're wrong? So maybe a Star Wars proton torpedo might be pink and have fins?
