Making a nose cone is something I'd been thinking about for some time. Once I decided to make a rocket with cement tubes, it seemed like the perfect time to try it. The method I came up with make things pretty easy.

Didn't come out perfect but pretty good for a first attempt. I'm happy with it.

Very cool Marc!

I did something similar for my 7.75" Megga Magg.
See this thread- https://rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?t=28034

I'm gonna steal your technique for the intermediate plywood discs
on the next one I do...

So what is that you're building and will it fly at NEFAR anytime soon?

It will certainly fly at NEFAR when ready! It will have a 98mm MMT, so it could be fun. It'll probably take a month or two to complete.

This project is basically me trying out a lot of new things. The rocket will have removable fins, for example. First time using Quik Tube and so on...

If all of these new things work, I'll build something similar/bigger for an L3 attempt. But, first things first, this test bird hasn't flown yet :)

Looks like that turned out pretty well for an approach that did *not* include a lathe. I'm sure that, up close, you (as the builder) can remember lots of little imperfections but it sure does look great from here!
