I flew a few rockets today, and tried the Hartle Engineering chutes (available from JonRockets.com). These plastic chutes are a great alternative to the thin "bread wrapper material" chutes you get from Estes. I used a 24" in several D-powered rockets which did not have room for a nylon chute. Worked great.
