Got to pay for all the fire prevention some how. This is an awesome thread let's not get it locked going political.

I really don't understand the need for the rules Cali has in place. Seems more deterrent than safety.

It is not really a safety issue. If you look at it, it is more a revenue thing. Typical Government type thinking.

Considering the relevance, I think it's OK to discuss. The regulations/requirement are overbearing, and preventing business. It skews to large companies and screws small operations.

There is no need to tax everything and anything, and it's unfair to place that burden on a hobby that already regulated to death. If high power motors were lighting the state on fire daily they'd have an argument.

Here's my growing collection:
I've got a 38/360, 38/720, forward closure, and RAS. So with a seal disk and aft closure, I'll be all set to fly most every 38mm load up to 720.
There's also a 29/180, 29/360, closures, seal disk, and RAS, so I can fly from 29/120 (love that G77R) up to 29/360.
And of course there's the Hobbyline cases.
My most recent additions are a Pro24 1 and 2 grain cases.

Should be a fun year!!
Nate

From left to right: Pro-38 6XL, Pro-38 4G, Pro-29 3G, and a Pro-24 1G case. Also in the photo are two Pro-29 spacers, two regular Pro-38 spacers and an XL spacer.

With this setup, I can fly anything from an E to a J motor:)

Must... not engaged... Don't mistake my coment for agreement of the Cali rules, sarcasm is hard to convey through text. I find them to be unnecessary and difficult to justify for such a small niche hobby.

Especially for testing and safety that has already been done by far more qualified personal. They think they know better and charge acordingly I would like to believe its about fire prevention and safety but as with most all fees and taxes, its about the money.

I just realized I havent posted my new cases, when I get home.

I have posted here before, that is before I started collecting 75mm and 98mm casings. Keep in mind when you see duplicates of some of these, Sharon and I both fly a lot of rockets that use the same casing, and you don't win an argument with her if she wants a specific casing that you need at the same time....

The reason for this update is we just got an email from Wildman letting us know that there is another 69 lbs. of Aerotech reloads headed our way, and we needed to do inventory on what we have already:

It used to be easier to keep track of this stuff when it all came in tubes and bags, now we have a separate table for the big stuff in boxes:

See what happens when your wife is as obsessed as you are? I thought rock climbing was bad, with all the neat gadgets you can buy.....

Question #1: Are you not concerned that the gubmint will label you a domestic terrorist in possession of an arsenal?:y:

Question #2: Will you consider adopting me?

You two fly a lot rockets!

WHOAH. HOLD ON A SEC.

O1d_dude.... hold up.... :p

I get first dibs on adoptions. :)

*adjusts halo*

Hey wayco.... :p you guys interested in adopting a 16 year old boy? He cleans motor cases and retrieve rockets... :p

He pays his own airfare to Goodyear, AZ... :)

See? That is my dream life right there... I finally wouldn't have to worry about leaving rockets around :)

Finally got around to taking a family picture:

Was high time to get everything in a single pile and take inventory...

Hmmm...more than I thought!
Next acquisition should be a CTI 75mm 4 grain with closures

I recently discovered by buying a 75mm AMW snap-ring case instead, it opens you to whole lot more loads and you can get the Fwd and aft carriers the fly the Pro75 loads.

The latest arrival, an Aerotech 24/60 RMS, recently added to a stand of cases in a workshop corner.

Here's a shot of the latest hardware to leave Loki Research. If you follow Loki Research on Facebook then you've already seen this last week.

Here are three 152mm Frankenstein "P" motor hardware sets. Everything but the nozzles are here, which the new owner will be supplying for now. A smokeless hockey puck bulkhead is on the left and new for Loki Research, on the right is a 152mm Smoke Bulkhead. The new smoke bulkhead didn't go out with this order, but I wanted to a shot of it with the rest of the hardware. The cases themselves are 57.5" long and are all turned down to fit existing 6" airframe tubing.

I know these aren't for everyone, but they're fun to look at just the same.

EDIT- Sorry, I didn't realize how huge that photo was. It's been resized much smaller now.

Although I can't fly all available loads yet, I think I have the 24mm D to small 75mm M range covered in one manufacture or another. As you've probably noticed, I have more AT then CTI, which isn't because I dislike CTI, I just bought the AT cases before all the CTI loads were available. I did go with CTI for the high end of 54mm and that has turned out to be really cool!
