A couple more from the keychain cam...

My Barracuda spun like a top again, on a G76-7G AT reload.

My dad's Initiator didn't spin though. I'm going to try taping the camera down closer to the fins to see if that makes any difference.

I just got my key chain cameras in from China and taped it to my AT Arreaux with a G64-10W. Take a look.

Very nice. And it looked you got a near-perfect apogee parachute deployment.

Here's the vendor I got mine from:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140400567016

$11.15 shipped and it's the type with the preferred electronics (assuming all of the ones he's offering are from the same manufacturer).

This is the auction we got ours from:

First thing I did was put it on my 1/16 RC Nitro Buggie. I broke the camera when I crashed. My boyfriend was able to fix it, and is going to make it so I can not break it again.

We liked the vendor so much that we have two more cameras coming. Hoping to get them this week. We flew some rockets this weekend, I'm going to post those after I clean up the clips.

Mine was $10.66.

Does anyone else seem to have problems with HUGE video files?

Yes, but I don't think it's that big of a problem... About 100 meg per minute is what mine does. An 8 gig micro-SD card was like 15 dollars, so that's what, 80 minutes of video? I don't even know if the battery would last that long. Once it's on the computer, the videos can be cut down to remove any extra time, like 15 minutes of sitting in a field waiting to be retrieved, for instance... Or they could be converted to a less bulky format.

The devices are small and simple, they probably don't have the processing power to encode videos in a small file in realtime. If they had the processing power, then they'd need more batteries, and they'd be more heavy, and... Well, you see how it is. Better to do it on your home PC!

Wow! Lots of good information and videos on this thread. I just ordered two of the keychain cameras today. I'm looking forward to playing around with them as soon as the shipment arrives from Hong Kong.

The video these cameras provide is superior to that of my Estes Oracle. Plus, it has audio. I can't wait to tape one on!

:headbang:

That fin was wobbling on the way up. It probably would've detached on landing if the parachute hadn't gotten to it first.

Sorry not to reply sooner.... yes, I saw that. It landed on that fin on a prior flight. I don't necessarily think it would've come off in that flight had the 'chute not "helped" remove it but certainly in a subsequent one if I didn't notice it was a bit "soft" and fix it first.

It has since been replaced. Launching this camera was one thing I didn't do at OROC last weekend. I should've, though.

My KeyChain camera arrived two days ago, mostly DOA (now totally dead).

The seller has given me a couple of things to try. We'll see.

Kira, that is a really cool paint job on your Screaming Eagle!

We now have 4 of them. I broke one on my RC Car, so I decided we needed more. My boyfriend was able to fix it, and he is going to "Bulletproof" them with epoxy. The vendor I used was great, and it seems to be the camera that gets the highest rating.

I finally broke down and ordered one. Hopefully it will be here by May 15th so I can put it on my L2 bird!

Sweet videos Kira!

also, looking forward to seeing that cam on the L2 rocket. Mine took exactly one week.

Dad and I are letting off three kosdon motors tomorrow. In two brand new rockets. Should be some cool video.

My dad's is his L1 rocket. He is just giving it a test on a long burn G40.

Here's my first video with my key chain cam.
A Deuces Wild with 2 Quest C6-5s.

Here are a couple more videos with the Key Chain Cam taped to the side. The first one is with a G40-10W just after sunset and the second is with a the NEW G80-13T which hit 3100'. At around 2500' you can see it getting into the cloud and some rain but it was completely dry at the ground.

Now that was cool! Nice video!

On 04/24/10 at the NARHAMS launch, I launched three of these keychain
cameras. I must have done something wrong, because I only got one usable
video. On this video I taped the camera to the nose of a Quest Magnum.

it worked in the test area

I had a 1 GB for my phone & then bought two 4 GB later on.
I then swapped the 1 gig for the 4 for my phone & it saved me today...
I had trouble with the 1 GB at the pad, so I just pulled the 4 out of my phone & everything worked!

Video to follow.....
