If you use a plugged/threaded forward closure, you can mount an eyebolt there and tie into it.

Nope. It instantly turns it to grey. Any "chrome" or "metallic" appearance vanishes.

It's looking less likely for me now. I just started some new work - and I've got to work weekends. I may not get to ANY launches this year, including Hellfire. Yuck.
There is some talk that we...
I hate to disappoint you but no it can't be clearcoated. Really, you can't do ANYTHING to it without messing it up. Even after a couple weeks of curing, just touching it leaves ugly fingerprints. ...
I had "good" results on this:

I say "good" though with caveats. It does look great as you see in the photos. However, like just about any silver/chrome type paint I've ever tried, that's...
I've made a bunch of my own chutes. It's fun, satisfying, and you get exactly what you want/need. I definately recommend it.

This is an extremely cool, and generous, offer. Thank you!
I'll see what Adrian says, but I bet mine is toast in the long run. I'll let you know if I opt to take you up on your offer.
cheers, s6
Gerald - very cool. I just finished a night flyer myself, but have yet to launch it. My effort was quite a bit more crude than your own. I love how you "went big" with your build.

I used to build custom guitars for a living. I know some very amazing craftsmen and artisans that build true works of art, that are unique, and are in my mind "priceless". It is not unheard of (nor...
Thanks for the reply Adrian.
Bulkheads are pretty clean, but I did use a healthy dose of TronicKleen on them as well. Still not right.
I've plugged in a few different batteries - some...
I seem to be having a bit of trouble with my Raven - if someone here (Adrian included) could offer assistance it would be appreciated.
I THINK the problem is with my active bulkhead on my 38mm AV...
I believe the commercially available stuff is generally 6-7oz.
That said, some of the ones I've bought in the past were a bit too thin, and/or too light a weave. And yes, I've experienced burn...
Sweet! Congrats on your first dd flight.
I like the rocket hugging picture.
So......what's next?

I hope it runs better on the PC than the Kindle. I'm a big reader and a definate Kindle fan. However, on some books the digital formatting is done very poorly, and unfortunately this book is...
Nope. Way better flick than that.
Though key elements do take place in the desert.

Name the movie.

True story.
I had to fly with a friend from Salt Lake to San Jose on a short overnight trip once. This was just a few months after 9-11. My friend had flown very little in his life and was...
I probably won't have it ready in time but.....
I'm currently working on an upscale of one of my own scratch designs (that did get built and flown). Would that count?

Looking good Alex. Hope it flies just as pretty.

It seems that, as of a certain announcement/event that happened a couple of weeks ago, TRF members can now be categorized in a new way. No longer will the divisions between L1/L2/L3, LPR/MPR/HPR,...
Words fail me now.
I'm here just the same.

I'm on it.

I've also used Estes ignitors for three-way D clusters with success. However, whenever possible I would choose Q2G2s instead. More reliable, better chance of success.

Still thinking of you Eric/Rhonda. And still sending best wishes.
