Yes this has been done before...but don't let that deter you. This is one of my favorite sci-fi rockets but never got around to trying it. I really look forward to the build...and the flight!

Awesome job John! So glad the PEPP survived to fly another day...that aerobraking is nice :) It would fly much better on the D's...assuming you can light than many of the little things. Oh, yeah, I...
Very cool photo. I don't remember seeing astronautic.com's page linked above. Apologies if I merely missed it.
Yes they will...this photo was posted by Aerotech.
CA or multiple layers of cardstock are two ways to go. A thin veil of light fiberglass wouldn't add much weight but that's kinda overkill for that kit.. In my experience, extra strength on the...
The official email had the E16.
Do they still come with 2yrs of Google Drive storage, or was that just an early promotion?
Cool. I've been thinking about one too. Samsung?
I've started counting backwards...guess I'd better compose a PM! LOL
Schweeet!
My feeble mind thought cardboard when I replied earlier. CA not required for fiberglass.
I like the rivets shown above the best (got mine from Giant Leap). On even smallish MPR rockets, however, I've merely used any old screws. Cap screws look the coolest IMO but are most draggy. I...
A memory leak is when a program doesn't free up memory when it is done with it, so the memory usage keeps growing. My main Chrome process gets bigger and bigger until I finally have to restart. This...
Chrome seems to have a memory leak. On my installation, the main browser process and one for an online email server get bigger and bigger. Specific websites/functions don't seem to stop working but...
Great looking rocket! I use a lot of found tubes, but haven't used a TP tube in 40 years :)
I saw one rocket with a single glider arc over badly. The results were horrific. I don't know the stability calcs/thrust-weight ratio/etc of the rocket in question. But the event makes the question...
Maybe my Chrome hasn't gotten the very latest 'upgrade'.
BTW, it looks like it actually...er...flew. See my blog (link in sig) :)
Try the usual. Clear cookies. Disable pop-up blockers and the like. Etc, etc, etc
just thought I'd check....looks ok here
Got the invite via facebook. I suspect the website may lag a few days or so.
After seeing this thread, I found the movie on Netflix! Luke, I think you screen 'snaps' are AOK :) I really loved the movie. It will be added to my list of personal 'cult classics'. The business...
That's awful news. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers also.
Can't believe I didn't know about that. Never even wondered about that little icon.
What you use is personal preference. I have a 1x29mm, a 3x29mm, and a 7x18mm. Check out this web site: http://www.marcsfatboyfleet.zapto.org/ Still trying to decide how crazy to get on my last...
My bad...
Is this a feature or a bug?
No 24mm here...both the Quest and Estes C6's are 18mm.
I have one Estes RTF in the fleet (my son found it near his appt. and gave it to me). It uses internal plastic parts and a twist lock...
Yup, the newer Quest C6's definitely get hotter than the Estes versions. They burn longer and have thinner cases. They really don't like plastic motor mount parts!
I have Chrome and it only barfed the second time I visited today.
