Now that's a great kit bash!
Cool, I'll be interested to hear how this one flies. The original is fun every time! Do you plan on the motor mount ejecting through the lower section?
I have an original Maxi Force, it really scoots on 3xE9. :) The tough part would be finding a source of 2.5" tubes. Perhaps a bash of one of the PSII kits?
Cool. I took the guided tour there two years ago, and while it was excellent, lead by a former serviceman, it would have been great to see a missile. The closest it came was this original mural,...
Nice liftoff shot, I can just see the tail end! Mine was launched this last weekend also, the theme of our launch being "Fliskits Parade", but this time, only on a 1/2A3-4T.
Wait, PemTech is offering a kit of the logo rocket? This looks really great, I've gotta visit here more often!
I love friction fit. Mechanical retainers on 24mm or below are overkill. :duck:

I'll probably still get some of these. :D
For me, it was fairly specific - I wanted to be able to fly large BP clusters, the G138T, and sparkies, all of which required L1. I also plan to purchase & build a Sirius Saturn V in the next year,...
Review added. Thanks for the E12, I just updated, it was seamless. I always forget about the swipe delete thing, too many different OS's. I have devices running XP, Vista, 7, iOS, and PalmOS. And...
It is *key* for this app to use a locally stored motor DB. Especially for those of us who use it on an iPod ! <Rant> Smart phones cost way too much <\Rant>
Anyway, I used SmartLaunch at a launch...
Current Econojets are limited to F20W, F23FJ, F27R, and F42T. These are 29mm SU, with less total impluse, and a shorter case than the full F SU (F25, F26, F50).
Try the G77 RMS, it's even nicer, since it uses bates grain for a nice even thrust profile.
Gooseberry preserves. Hard to find, especially without too much added sugar.
Of Course.
About 1500', burnout right at apogee on a D12-7. I was hoping for a bit more, but needed a bunch 'o nose weight to get it even close to stable!
Heresy! ;)
The original 1969 release of the Cherokee-D used a 16.5" body tube, and later releases switched to an 18" body tube. Some old-timers consider only the "short" version a true Cherokee-D. I like...
Cool. Clusters would be my first priority (up to 7); pRASP supports simple clusters (all identical motors), so this is a must have if I'm to retire my Palm PDA. pRASP also supports stages (up to...
There's no need to use anything but medium CA on this kit. The only place I've ever used epoxy on Aerotech kits is for the coupler, since it's easier to slide in with epoxy, and sometimes a small...
Good news, Chad. Now if the rain would just stop...
I like Aerotech for getting a start in MPR. Easy to build, no epoxy, and allow use of the 24/40 and 29/40-120 hobbyline cases with no hassle.
While they have their detractors, I really like Aerotech kits. The lightweight of cardboard tubes, with the easy-finishing aspect of plastic fins & NC, and no epoxy needed!
This sounds like an interesting mod. I wonder if a 4 cluster would be easier to design? Same central 29, with an additional 29 between each fin tab. This eliminates the 2 cluster, but allows for a...
Looks nice & simple, a possible replacement for pRASP, which I *still* use this in the field. Does it support clusters & stages? Any way to add motors? Rod speed?
I've put up a tumble weed on an A3-4T, multiple times! Just don't take your eyes off of it...
Nice Cherokee-D! Is this the "short" or "long" version?
While a bunch of work, building the tower from dowels really gives a nice sense of satisfaction, and I'd recommend giving it a go. Even the sanding part. :)
Nice work Rex. We all need to do the "No Rain" dance for JC, I'd like to see this one fly.
I like the placement of the lugs, did you upscale the diameter of them too? ;)
When taking the parts out of the bag, and studying the square tube, I thought this really needs 18mm power, but how do I modify those really cool square CRs? Then I found that an ST-9 fit nicely...
Watch out for "The Sting of D-Power"!
