I use the 7-grit nail buffers. I can get them at The Dollar Tree for a $1. Much cheaper to buy than getting sanding sticks from the LHS.

Saw it this past Monday, I liked it very much. It has something for the old Trekkers and the new Trekkers. Don't know why it has not done better at the box office??
I would try Estes customer service first. If that does not help, you probably can find a balsa version from Semroc.
Where's the option for water-based acrylics?
I have built and flown the Wolverine, nice flier. Semroc has the parts and Excelsior has the decals and canopy.
The Liquitex may be drying before it reaches the painting surface. Try holding the airbrush a little closer. Since you have an airbrush there are plenty of choices when it comes for a clear coat. ...
I have Windows 7 with a 64 bit processor, when IE 10 was downloaded during the automatic updates, it has been nothing but trouble for me. When I use my computer at a public wifi such as the library,...
I just ordered the airbrush. I have a braided hose and airbrush compressor from Harbor Freight. From all that I read Iwata has a very good reputation.
Gorilla Glue Super Glue
After reading everyone's input, I ordered the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS. It received plenty of positve reviews both on this forum and online as well. It was a little pricey at $130, but it comes with a...
I use one of those 7-grit fingernail buffers that has a course surface to a very fine polishing surface. They do a great job and since they are thick, they act as a sanding block. You can get them...
I am also impressed with the newer Custom kits. Quality of parts is right up their with Estes, nice laser-cut balsa and thick engine hooks. I like their value price but don't like their use of...
Does anyone know where Quest get their tubes? They are the only ones that I know of that uses the metric tubes (of companies still in business). Maybe if they switch suppliers that will solve many...
The Thunder-Roc used Estes parts.
You continue to amaze! So is the Junkers Ju-87 Stuka next?
The Courier is one of the earlier kits, I have not built that one but have built some Quest kits from the same era, your assessment is quite correct in the quality of the parts they use. The...
There is a third choice: acrylic.
I keep my spent motor casings as well and use them on my Fin Alignment Guide. I glued two together to increase the length for those swept fin birds.
Thanks for all the news about the new launch pad. I am also surprised that the new pad lacks, rod-tilting capability and cannot accept 3/16 rods! Although I like the design and that the new...
Besides building and flying LPR, I also enjoy scale modeling as well with aircraft being my favorite subject. I just picked up the latest issue of Finescale Modeler, the March 2013 edition and it...
Great paint jobs on your rockets! Your skills perfectly demonstrate what you can do with an airbrush that you can't do with spray cans!
One red shirt on ST TOS died early on in the episode only to be seen later alive on the ship!
I'll be interested in your take on the Talon.
I have used it since its re-introduction. The new Fin Alignment Guide is made of better plastic (ABS, I think). Some rocketeers reported that the earlier versions, sometimes had warped fin guides....
The Big Bertha is certainly a classic kit for all the reasons that others in this thread have posted. But I'll add one more thing: Almost every other LPR company has its own version of the Big...
Usually they go in as far as needed to clear the shoulder of the nosecone. About 1 1/2 to 2 inches should suffice.
Hello to my fellow airbrushers!
I am looking for any suggestions for a new airbrush. I want to buy a double-action gravity fed one. I have been looking at the Iwata Eclipse, Iwata Revolution,...
It even come more apparent if you include the Clone Wars animated series that is shown on Cartoon Network as part of the Star Wars canon. Anakin has plenty of interaction with the droids as well as...
I thought it was hokey that little Anakin put C3PO together in the first place! George should never included the droids in ep 1 to begin with.
Maybe 20 years from now someone will want to "re-imagine" the entire Star Wars franchise. Then they can clear up all the discrepancies and get rid of Jar Jar Binks!
