To clarify: they are considering doing so; it doesn't sound like the decision has been made, at this point.

It's still there. It was sold last year, and it took a little while for the new owner to get things up and running, but it's certainly still there.

Wow. That's absolutely gorgeous. Great job!
I'm impressed that you took on the rebuild.
I wonder if having the ball split open wasn't a blessing in disguise -- it might've let you get a better seal at the junction of the two tubes than you...
Those are awesome!
I might suggest taking them to a professional framer, just to see what it would take to have some sort of display framing done. It wouldn't be cheap, but for something that has...
"'39", by Queen, off of the "A Night at the Opera" album.
Written by guitarist Brian May (who studied astrophysics in college, and now holds a PhD in the field), it's about a group of space...
This is cool as heck. I recognized nearly all of the models. Thanks for sharing!!
That was my thought, as well...I'd suggest looking into the specific requirements of the toy drive with which you'd be working.
I love the idea in theory, but it could be a bit challenging in...
That's either one small turkey, or one stretchy cockatoo. ;)
I've actively avoided getting into anything other than LPR during my return to rocketry. Due to that, it's remained a relatively inexpensive hobby for me...leaving me to be able to spend money...
I'm certain there's a story behind what a 7-year-old Jim Flis was doing walking through a cemetery...
In the mid-1970s, my father and my uncle bought a hardware store which had been in...
The only time I can ever remember *not* having a turkey for Thanksgiving was about 6 years ago, when a friend of my mother-in-law managed to convince her that a "capon" was just a small turkey (and...
Likewise. I'd never heard anyone pronounce it the other way.
I was always interested in space exploration -- I was 4 years old for Apollo 11, and remember watching the telecasts of the mission (and the other Apollo missions). At that time, Gulf gas stations...
Roger, the new owner, made a post about the topic a couple of weeks ago:

Here are a couple of pictures of mine. This is from an original EAC kit, which I won on eBay a few years ago, but only got around to building this summer. Decals are courtesy of Sandman / Excelsior.
I have plenty of unbuilt kits to get me through the winter. I'll probably also try to rebuild my clone of the 13mm Estes Condor (the rocket portion of it crashed a few years ago, and I need to build...
Looks like there's only one up on eBay at the moment:

I have several friends who do webpage design work -- they swear by Dreamweaver.
Might be a complicated one to re-create, but JimZ has a PDF of the plans:

Negative reinforcement. If you don't make a straight cut, the mandril will fling poo at you.

Don't feel badly; I didn't get it at first, either.
As you already understand, each "bigger letter" of motor is more powerful than the letter below it -- "powerful", in this case, is defined as...
I hate it when that happens, especially when what had been forecast to be a calm day a few days earlier turns out to be windy. :(
:D:clap:
I think that's an excellent idea. Something like that would help draw attention, and let the casually interested see what a launch is like.
I think the biggest issues with that would be weight and drag. Fur isn't exactly aerodynamic, and I would have to imagine that it'd add an awful lot of weight, making it infeasible for anything...
Yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised by how well the iPhone camera works!
Third flight was the Estes Andromeda, on a C6-5. With no wind at all, it went straight up, and really soared. The ejection charge came well after apogee (a 3-second delay would probably be better),...
It's an absolutely gorgeous fall day here in Chicago -- mid 60s this morning, with almost no wind. So, time to launch some rockets!
The first launch was my trustworthy Quest Totally Tubular, on a...
