I've always used the tab on my nosecones. However, the tab only holds the cone to the recovery system. I attach the shock cord to the cone with a quick link and attach the chute to the quick link....

Not to be too anal, but those are "weld" nuts. Weld nuts have a flange to be spot welded to the base material. "Well" nuts are rubber and compress to expand inside the hole to keep from pulling out....

I've flown my PML Tethys on big G motors. Works great. With the 54mm main mount I can also fly it on the 54/427 motors.
