As the propellant burns it should gain a bit more stability, seeing as it will be shedding weight as it flies, but I would add a little nose weight just to be safe.

as long as you are only flying it on 29/40-120 motors.

Just had to share this! I thought it was pretty awesome.

what kosdon hardware do you have?

I'd say go for the motor!

Estes tubes are paper, like LOC ones. Which are also stronger than most think.
Phenolic is a strong in the sense that it doesn't bend or flex easily, but it is very very brittle. The Red Arrow...
I was with you on the EX motors idea from the beginning, but those are just too nice to risk!
I reallllyyy like the second one from the right on the third picture. Very Alpha-esque.

I like snap ring hardware, mostly, but I love my new CTI hardware!
It's nice to just slide a motor together and go fly.

I would put the coupler IN the nosecone shoulder, and use all thread from the nose tip to secure it in place.
To each his own, though! I'm sure it'll work out fine.

No way! Still one of my favorite Ferraris of all time...
I generally am attracted to cars that came along before I was born. As for cars I have owned..

I would use three as well. 2-56 size.
My main reason for saying I would use three is the configuration of the fins. Same reason my Nike Smoke has 4. Not the most scientific approach, but I like...
Crazy Jim taught me this lesson (thankfully before I had to learn the hard way)
His words, I believe, were "I put a tracker in anything going over 1500 feet, because the ones that you think don't...
looking good Kevin! I too have been tempted by Tim's deal. We've wanted to build a two stage rocket for a while too, and with the RRC3 on the way, I think that could work out nicely...

awesome! Will b watching this thread!
Also, if I may make a suggestion (unless you already have the GoPro)...The Contour Roam 2 shoots a higher frame rate at 1080p than the GoPro Heros 1,2 and 3....

Everyone seems to forget the huge scale 4 stage commanche at LDRS in Cali. The 4th stage took a while to light but if you listen closely you can here it.

I'm not a superstitious guy, but after watching this movie, my sister began relating everything in her life to the number 23

Yep, I definitely plan on attending a FAR launch at some point. Lots of cool people out there!
Haven't seen the new episode yet.

Glad to hear it!

Thanks! I was looking for that PDF earlier. I guess I didn't look hard enough...

Anyone have the wall thickness (and less importantly, the weight per foot) of 7.5" Performance G12 fiberglass tube?
I posted in Plans about it, but received no response, so I figured I'd try my...
I built a mozzie with no nose weight and it was fine until the motor had a burn through!

I have been very anxious for that tropical cocktail propellant to come out!

I am looking for the wall thickness of Performance Rocketry 7.5" G12 airframe, and the approximated weight per foot.
Any help is appreciated!

Rouse Tech fin cans are awesome

Pretty spendy though.

I would highly recommend leaving an altimeter out of the equation. Save yourself the space for a tracker!

Is that a PunkRocketScience project? That is sick!
This is a great build! I would love to have one but I know I would not have the patience to put it together. You are doing phenomenal!
Can't...
