Thanks as always.
Perfect.
Thanks

I know there are many build threads, but does anyone have a consolidated "what you need to build this kit" list of hardware, shock cords, chutes, etc.
I've looked with Google and can't find a...
Great start to the season. Thanks again to CMASS for a great day and to Robert and Gloria for supporting the launches. It was great to grab a CTI I70 from the trailer and launch 30 minutes later.
This is tough. I've seen Super Toms go faster than heat and I've love to get one more ride in the S-3, but if I could have one last ride, I'd take a real recon run in the Vig. Mach 2 in the weeds.

Where on earth to you fly this. I consider it a crazy day when I stage the Mongoose on a C6-0 to a C6-5. Lots of walking in that one. The Rocketarium has the Hydra Sandhawk that stages a D12-0 to a...
I did 10 years active duty in the Navy with 7 of those as a Naval Flight Officer in S-3 Vikings. At work and whenever the subject comes up, I always get asked what it was like landing on the...
I haven't read the full article so it may be in there, but I did read once that when then they "were on track" over a target, the cruise speed was faster than the muzzle velocity of a 30.06 round.
I'm sure this has been covered, but I can't find it on TRF or a general Google search, so here we go.
I'm building a sizable (55" lenght) kit that has a BT-80 with a triple 24mm mount. I would...
Felt it in Concord, MA
I used an Adept 22 in my LOC Fantom EXL for my L2 on a J357 . I ran it with a 450mah 2S lipo with Quest ignitors and it worked like a charm. Any larger than 4" and I would run a second system and...
I told my wife the other night that one of the great things about Mr. Armstrong was that he was a hall of fame pilot / rocketeer before the moon. To me, Apollo 11 was about putting the best guy in...
When I was in the Navy, there was a mishap when a mech inspecting the cockpit fell backwards and grabbed the face curtain for balance. The seat took him to the top of the hanger. On a few of the...
I flew S-3 Vikings in the 90s and was thinking about the ejection seat. My rough memory recalls that the seat could shoot a 200 pound body 200 feet in the air. The chute was deployed by a spreader...
I have an AstroBlaster and just took a set of Stratoblaster wings out of the shucks. The Aerotech 24RC case is great. I have flown the Astroblaster on the E7 and E6. The E6 is a great show with...
I saw a great rocket destroyed two weeks ago from an E12. I just made a large order and I'm sticking with AT E18 reloads for that power range. This is too scary and the E18 reloads are selling for...
Is there any chance of sharing the video footage that was shot? I seemed that they were recording every launch.
Thanks
Carl
I have a few Arduinos in the basement and now I have my next project.
Do you have a part list and links to the firmware code. I'd love to start hacking around with this.
Thanks
Carl
There is something about this rocket that keeps me coming back. We were launching high power at the MMMSC sod field this past weekend and my son said "Let's make the Mongoose disappear!"
We went...
Was that a basic CHAD stage? It was great and I think I can use it to jazz up my son's Phord x150 for Acton
I have to vote for the LOC Fantom 438 EXL. Build it without the EXL and it's a great L1. Add the EXL and DD with an Adept 22 and it's a blast on a CTI J357.
Ask me how I know. Level 1 first try...
Thanks again to all the help with the L2 flight today. This is a great group and a great field for flying. I was happy to hang out with
everyone.
My son Max told me today "Eating hot dogs,...
its a rocket beyond description.
I'm built and ready for L2 as well (NAR). I would also like to take the exam tomorrow and fly if possible.
Thanks
Carl
+1 for Big Daddy on C11
My mistake, it wsd the next to last launch of the year. The Nov launch two weeks before the night launch weekend.
Scotty,
I have one and love it. I flew it at the last Amesbury launch last year. If you fly on the AT E6, there is a crazy 6 second boost and you have to fly the plane the entire time. I've...
I work in the marketing and R&D function for an arthroscopic company and have seen many different surgeons and spend countless hours in operating rooms and scientific talks on meniscus injuries.

I have a Fire and this would be awesome
The 1696' on the J350 is interesting. Openrocket has the Fantom EXL at 4100' on the same motor. I'm going to use your real world data.
The $39 for the EXL package and the Adept 22 make a good...
