I use mostly Titebond translucent wood glue. Don't know how it compares to the regular yellow glues, but it acts like them. Best part is, it doesn't have the yellow look when dry.

I use the following:
Water knot for webbing.
Figure eight for where I need a loop to attach a quicklink or similar.
Two-half hitch for attaching shock cord to nosecones, eye screws,...
Of course I can buy all of the materials from various vendors: 54mm tube and coupler, 38mm and 29mm motor tube, and 1/4" launch lug from LOC; 24mm tube from BMS (as you suggested); fiberglass and...
I sprayed painted my Cluster silver using Duplicolor over Rusto white primer. I didn't do anything special to seal up the foam. I have to admit, I never even considered the foam being damaged by...
Yep. I'd do it again, too. And there's a bit more to it than just "card stock and assembly instructions."
I voted for #2. I agree with the other comments that the two wide pieces don't quite belong, but still prefer it over the others.
I have the Cluster saucer from Art Applewhite. It has three options for motors, 3-24mm cluster, 29mm, or 38mm and is a great flyer. I used mine on my L1 cert flight, with full beard (parachute) for...
I've had a Tornado for years and flown it several times. I finally painted it - orange bottom, yellow top. I flew it this past weekend on a B6. Don't know if I'll do that again in windy...
Red River Rocketry's model Scortch is an outstanding flyer on C11 or D12s. It's tons of fun on a D9W reload. Just make sure you put the right o-ring in the right spots. I'm on my second Scortch...
An A3-4T will give a higher flight. I've managed to recover mine the few times I've flown it. It is forest green, but the streamer helps with locating it.
I fly my Big Daddy mostly on E11J and E18W reloads. These are real crowd pleasers, especially the visiting cub scout packs. I think everyone should have a Big Daddy.
Thanks for the info. This is really helpful.
I'm building a couple of squatty rockets for my girls and had concerns about the stability. The design as built has approximately .5-.6 calibers of stability depending on motor selection (D12 or...
The HF air compressor is amazingly quiet, as well. It appears to be a pretty good quality unit, at least I haven't had any issues with mine in the year or so I've used it.
Found a video on...
Win a medal at the Great American Beer Festival.
That would be just awesome.
Of course, this doesn't quite fit the "All my life" part, but certainly does for the last 10+ years.
I'm glad you were able to find the little guy in the corn field. I always worry about drifting over the trees and losing my rocket in there.
Gatorade 12oz bottles work well for BT-50 tubing. Just cut them below the neck ring, sand the inside to rough up, and epoxy onto the tube. The cap is the retainer.
They're rather tight on LOC...
I get "Server Not Found" when I try to get the Aerotech website. Been going on for a while now.
I found the instructions in the body tube, along with the decals.
Thanks for all the replies.
Salvage - Thanks. This will come in handy in case T-Rex's idea doesnt work out.
T-Rex - I'll check inside the tubes. I haven't pulled all of the parts out of the box yet. I'm trying to talk my...
I bought an Aerotech Mustang kit that is missing the instructions. There's not too many parts, and I'm sure I can put it together without them, but I'd really hate to miss something on an object I...
Here in (North) Texas the flying starts to wane shortly after lunch during the summer months. For some reason, 105 degrees seems to make walking to retrieve your rocket a little less fun.
For those of you in the OKC area, the Oklahoma City Museum of Science has one on display, as well as a 1/2 (I think) scale V-2.
I remember getting to meet her when she came to talk to my 5th grade class. What I remember most about her talk is her answer to "how do you go pee in space?" Her answer was an explanation about...
The last two flights at the DARS launch yesterday ended with the rockets at the top of some trees. One of them happened to be my upscaled Mudwasp with a 29/40-120 case. I've read plenty of threads...
I always make sure to click the "Print Actual Size" radio button under the Size Options on the Print window. This is using Adobe Reader X.

I built mine totally stock except for using an 18" thin mill Top Flite chute and nomex pad. I have since changed the shock cord to Kevlar and elastic by poking a hole through both CR with a bamboo...
I don't know how much "good" real estate there is in Austin, Minnesota.
And, thanks. I now have a group of vikings singing "Spam, Spam, Spam..." in my head. As well as a waitress offering Spam,...
My nephew made a nose cone for his pringles rocket out of a coke bottle. Fit perfectly and the shoulder of the coke bottle worked just like that on a proper nose cone.
He cut the bottom of the...
Thanks again! I'm really looking forward to building these.
And to my recipient, I'm glad to see you liked the kits.
Plus I got to support a couple of members of my local club. ...
