I have Comcrash and lose internet at random times almost daily. When it does work I get email...mostly junk though.
Broke out the sewing machine and whipped-up a few shock cords using Blue Water tubular nylon. Seven are 5/8" wide in various lengths from 15' to 30', and one is 1" wide and ~40' long. This is the...
I've decided that my latest 7.5" rocket will use electronics in the NC exclusively. A single break-point and a captive 'chute is something I've wanted to do for awhile. It's old-skool rocketry with...
I built my 4" Mad Dog (DD) in early '06. It was one of the first kits Curtis produced. I used BASF automotive paint/ with 2-part clear, and to-date, one of the best finishes I've done....
It sounds good on paper until you lose the rocket that has the -one- retainer cap. Been there, done that.
I've always mounted mine -snug-. Overtightening the 3-piece buttons can cause binding. If the buttons show wear after a flight, I replace them. $.50 for a new pair of buttons is cheap insurance.
This build thread of the Black CINCO saucer was of my doing. I added pictures and video along the way.
Near the end I also shared pictures of a tired white CINCO that I pushed to failure using a...
I'd like one too, Chuck!
Holy Frijoli...that was close! Nice flight though.
I glassed a 60", 7.5" Loc tube yesterday. Aerosleeves, Aeropoxy and Aircraft Spruce peel-ply.
Looks Great Manny! Best of luck with the flight.
Also worked on a 7.5" NC....It's thin-wall FG I got from a rocket buddy. MFG unknown, but it is very lightweight (vintage early 90s). I added a LOC coupler, then added a LOC 'Stiffy' coupler. After...
Made some more progress on the first of three 7.5" rockets slated to be test-mules for 4" research motors.
Cut some CRs (7.5 x 4"), BPs and CPs using my router and Jasper Jig.
Nice! To be flown at AIRFest?

Oh, and keep your fingers away from the blade...

Very nice work, Roger. It's time to put this rig on the road!

Wright Patterson Museum is very nice. My favorite...

For 75-98mm motors, I use these... I purchased them a few years ago from Mc Master-Carr and am very pleased. They work well, are convertible to -external- if needed, and were delivered with an extra...
For 29-54mm snap ring motors, I use this Snap-on/Blue-Point set I've had for well over 20 yrs...
For those switching to Daylight Savings Time on Sunday, don't forget to set your clocks AHEAD one hour before you go to bed. You wouldn't want to be late for work, church or a rocket launch...
Yes, a laminate blade will work fine. It will not have carbide tips but that's not an issue with cutting your tube. You'll be fine....
Yes, a table saw will work. Make a -stop- for the tube and rotate it slowly...you should be fine.
Constructing the av-bay for a 3" minimum diameter rocket for AIRFest. ;)
Miter saw. I wrap a piece of masking tape around the tube covering where I want to cut, and mark it with a Sharpie.
