Sounds like stock clearance in short time ahead of us... black saturday in summer time?...
Reinhard,
shall we order 2 of thoses? would for sure looks good in Bavarian and Austrian skies...
@ Eric ...shall we talk greenbacks? What shall that bird cost?
:-)
so again, I did some pics to show you.. I must admit, I could not remember it was such a force exercise last time *lol*..ok you need good tools, force in your hands and be really carefull...
First...
LOL...sorry it does, but you need to trick a bit : insert first the cap of the aeropack from the top of nozzle, then the thrust ring...done :-)
Not sure if this is the right info but all contrail 75 nozzles fit perfect in the standard 75mm aeropacks, I use nothing else in 5 large rockets now..I suspect it is same standard as the boat tail...
Now one year later, preparation near to be finished for the same launch meeting again...but with new rockets: Megacowabunga XXL, V2 and Eagle Claw 4...and a Badazz Defender 3...all rockets FG & CF,...
i would like to know what solenoids he offers? what size/specs? does it fit to the largest contrails? remember you need to feed them with a lot of nitrous in very short time....
Can we now attach pods at fin's end? Would love to design my Kramer X4 with OpenRocket finally....the better SW ;-)
Yep...sounds good to me...I need to host 53" of casing inside....good idea, even if the usage is different...
Denis
Mr Kramer... Contrail says the 75 monotubes are available right NOW in 28" 36" 48" and even 60" (!!)... but lead time approx 4 to 6 weeks (custom order).
The 98mm are NOT available at present...
Johnnie not sure about the combo you mean but yes, by choosing the 2 liters and the 3 liters tank in combination with 12" and 18" plus slow and medium nozzle...you can't do wrong...
Remember,...
hey captain, can you upscale this bird with 8" ??? just awesome, really... what motor will you fly?
Gary sounds like a medium speed J-K impulse to me...easy going...now how long is the booster as such? I would need to accomodate a 36 (J) or 48 inches casing inside (K)...
Gary this is beautifull Artwork :-)
Any estimations on empty weight and recommended motorisation? Obviously above J right?
Thx
Denis
Johnnie,
happy to read you could touch base with Tom! He and his father are such great persons...
My personal recommendation for a 75mm is a little bit different: I would go for the 2 liters + 3...
Gary do you have details on the Arcas Booster? How long is the MM and in which diameter?
thx
Eric,
how long is the booster? You know the hybrid folks have longer legs :-))
Denis
Well the lady had a long sleep...now finishing it and hopefully flying it on an hybrid M1450 in 2 weeks time...
Today I did:
- the rail buttons,
- the complete thrustplate including aeropack...
here the result.. 350gr ready to fly...127156
Thx for the build report.. I have the kit on my pile for 2 months now...I can only learn from your experience...so cool...please post lot of pictures...
I started today the most expensive part of the build: carbon and fiber glassing the wings... I decided to apply 3 layers: glass (3.5oz/sq.yard) / carbon (7 oz/sq.yard) / glass (3.5oz/sq.yard)...the...
cut all fabrics for glassing my Kramer X4 tomorrow...2 layers FG, 1 CF, peel ply etc.... 2 hours of cuting...8 pieces each...many things to prepare for the vacuum phase...
send me that file Please... got one on the pile I want to fly hybrid...
denis
Just use a large power switch that will be at same time the alignement piece and placed in the middle of the ebay. You can do both side symetrically if you go for redundancy, even better...
Well arrived on the other side of the ocean, thank you very much Brent, a pleasure to deal with you indeed!
Next was just for fun..or for the pleasure of the builder... just double tape each fin temporary to get a first impression how it looks compare to the original...I would say, not too bad what do you...
next I had to prepare each fin to fit to the airframe, which is at the end of the inverted NC a very round shape that change quickly in the length. Again, double-tape some sanding paper and gently...
OK this morning the fins were ready. Cut edges and clean it from curing. They are very robust and strong...and incredibly light: 60% lighter than wood..in total approx 70gr for all 4 fins instead of...
more pics from this step and finally going into the vacuum bag for 10 hours...

eventually I did not really liked that wooden plate so I decided to realize all fins with foam, glassed with CF. I believe this will look much greater as the wooden plate, will be lighter and much...
