Thats exactly how you would set it up for SD. The NC can either be friction fit with tape or you can use shear pins to hold it in. With the bulk plate in the aft end of the forward-section the only...

Robert & Gloria Thank you again for dropping off my Albatross. They were at the MDRA launch this weekend and were kind enough to drop it off to me in CT on their way through. Thanks so guys that was...
Thanks to Robert & Gloria from AMW I finally got my Albatross back from its Red Glare 14 flight. They were at the MDRA launch this weekend and were kind enough to drop it off to me in CT on their way...
LOC EZI-65
Don,
Yup the tree guy got mine and a few others. It's in MD though.... MDRA has it and arrangements are being made now to get it back. My RRC3 is in it so I want it ASAP to see what data...
Yup mine worked perfectly as well. At Red Glare it took me precisely to the tree my Albatross was hanging...
LOL Yeah tightening those nuts is a PIA even on this 5.5" NC. The NC base in completely intacked other than the part that sticks up with the plastic tab, that I cut off flush.
Another option to...
Huh? The all thread goes all the way to the tip of the NC. Its also bolted on both sides of the NC base as is the U-Bolt.
Good to know Rob.
If you haven't flown there its a great club, definitely worth checking out. Next launch is 5/18 ta boot.
Tim sorry no fins are available.
Andrew its not as simple as using a 1000 degree resin, its a whole process that has to be done during the curing of the part. A M98 with 1/8" wall is like...
I got the ok prior to the launch from the prefect. They just want to keep an eye on what flies before it flies which is totally acceptable by me, their field their rules end of story.
The one we use can handle like 375 degrees. If you wanted a Phenolic resin that can be done as well and made to handle over a 1000 degrees.
Mines got a 75mm MM so it'll fit an M.
Looks awesome!
The Mongoose nose cone is FWFG with graphite infused into it. The cone is not solid graphite. We can make an Ogive, VK or Conical in FWFG with an aluminum tip. If you want CF BT's with 1/8th wall we...
Sun,
Never!!!! use that plastic tab on any size NC, now that you learned your lesson here is another way of doing it when nose weight is needed. This is a LOC 5.5" NC.
The all thread goes all...
Chuck its redundant DD. Its not going to look right if you stretch it. It can be done as is you just have to be a bit more creative when packing your chutes. I cut the upper section to 11", the...
Just flew mine on Sat. The Nike Smoke is one of my favorite kits.

Agreed! Those are the standard rules of borrowing a case.. If you borrow it and break it, dent it, loose it, blister it or even nick it YOU bought it.
Jeff I've used the tape a few times with no problems. I now use a piece of 2" high density foam rubber cut round to about a 4.25" OD. Put a hole in its center then run the shock cord through it, it...
Jeff
On the Gizmo XL the main, electronics and cannon is in the NC. I'm not a fan of stretching the original designs cause after you do that its not the same kit anymore. You can see how I...
Thanks Jeff. Both are great motors.
The ARCAS is most definitely going to have a filament wound NC with aluminum tip. As for time nothing is etched in stone yet but we're getting close!
Gar its redundant DD. Its not going to look right if you stretch it though. It can be done as is you just have to be a bit more creative when packing your chutes.
Had a great time flying with the CTRA boys today. Thanks! guys.
