Flame / smoke depends on a couple things:
Amount of oxygen, or oxidizer, relative humidity in the air, and metal content.
Running high metals will help produce smoke.

With the small cases it's not that big of a deal.
The bigger motors that have a much longer burn time: >4.sec or more will be more of an issue.
The longer the heat soak the more the case can be...

Yes there was an issue with older BT motors and their delays.
The burn rate modifier would leech out over time and be absorbed by the delay.
That occurred before they wrapped the delay in another...
