I have flown my Ventris twice. Both times it carried an Altimeter Two unit.
Using an AeroTech F50-6T single-use motor it reached an altitude of 1,165 feet.
With an AeroTech F25-6W motor it went...
You're welcome!
Glad to be of service.
Of the five original Estes Pro Series kits I have built the Terrier-Sandhawk and I have half-built an Impulse (It's been half-built for 20 years). My...
To learn about the history of the original Estes Pro Series product line (At least from my perspective) read this thread over on YORF:

Enjoy!
Nice pictures!
It looked like a good flying day.
Once SCRA can move back to it's 'regular/normal' launch site, I'll be driving up to do some flying. :)
I have used standard 30 minute hobby epoxy on my Estes 29mm retainers for my Ventris and Nike Smoke kits.
No problems.
I do not build many scale rocketry models.
Having said that, I seem to like Nike Smoke models. Here is a picture of my three Nike Smoke models.
(L-R: Estes Pro Series II, F.S.I. & Centuri).

Dang Scott, you know Everybody! :D
Cool!
How long was the line to get in?
The AeroTech cooling mesh can be purchased in some grocery stores under such trade names as ChoreBoy, Quickie Stainless Steel Scourer and Scotch Brite Stainless Steel Scrubbing Pads. I keep a supply...
Any other hobby rocket news/products at the show, Scott?
It's nice to see the 'classic' MPC packaging style again.
Sadly, the rockets are nothing to write home about.
With the exception of the Vostok and Titan III models, these so-called 'classic'...
I will miss the Copperheard igniter. They were a product whose value was decreased when other manufacturers improved their own igniters.
The mesh has not been a problem for me.
I just shake the rocket or tap it on the ground so that the ejection caps fall out.
Don't use the shock cord anchor/baffle ring without the mesh....
They are now available on the Estes Website:

The genesis of the MRC Iron Man rocket kit has an interesting history.
Back in 1988 Scott Branche (Rokitflite) and myself were working for a new rocket company named Enertek based in Phoenix,...
As noted in the kit instructions, I use medium CA adhesive for the fins.
I use 30 minute epoxy for fillets.
The kit supplied shock cords always worked for me.
Sorry you will not be attending the NSL.
The flying field is great and it is well worth my driving from San Diego to fly at this launch site again!
You are welcome. Glad you are enjoying the kit. :)
I used to go to Lucerne several times a year, 20-25 years ago but very seldom now.
I do most of my flying now with SCRA at Santa Fe Dam.
If...
Wow! :eyepop:
I thought the Mirage was a long/tall kit when I designed it.
Nice flight/pictures.
Yup, with minimal modifications it can handle a 29mm 'H' motor. :)
It sounds like these motors would work in several of the AeroTech kits. :)
Maybe John will let me try one of the E16/F15 motors in my Initiator at the NSL.
This information is out of date.
My Estes Altimeter was provided to me for testing purposes.

As a general statement that is not correct.
The FAA handles airspace, not the state.
I belong to SCRA.
I started started flying with these folks almost thirty years ago when they were known as LARS and flew at Mile Square Park (I really miss flying at Mile Square Park  )
I thought that happened to Apollo 6 (?).
I haven't heard that.
The fire codes classify ALL metal cased rocket motors as HPR motors. So the AeroTech D13/RMS-18 motor is a HPR motor in California and can only be flown at an high-power...
It's been 'Spring' here in SoCal for several months.
Today, Saturday, I finished my Estes Pro Series II Nike Smoke kit.
I have two Enerjet 1340 clones in primer now.
Build, build,...
Mine was an AeroTech single-use E6-8 motor.
