Thanks for the info. They're easy to use, the right length for mounting on an ebay and sensitive enough for smaller sized batteries. I haven't had a problem with them yet.

Thanks John. I'll stop by and see you.
I just received my Marsa54 (Great deal for preregistered fliers of URRF or NYPower) and see that it recommends ematches with no fire currents higher than 0.2 amps and all fire currents less than 2.0...
Anyone going to be selling research supplies at the launch? I've been having a problem getting DOA and was hoping there may be some available at the launch.
Thanks and see ya at the field!

The motor containing 3 long grains will have a progressive burn, meaning the thrust will increase over the length of the burn. The 6 grain motor will have a regressive burn, higher thrust at the...
Adrian,
Is there a way to test the battery to see if it has been damaged due to being fully discharged?
Thanks, Scott
Never seen a switch like that used. What will you do with the cord once it is armed?
Scott
I also went to Lowes and got wire and a switch. Here is a pic of a test mount of it:

There is 1 Warp 9 grain at the aft end and then standard bates grains for the remainder of the case. The white smoke is identical to the standard White Lightning; you just don't get as large a cloud...
+2 for the White Lightning. I recently flew the AT K375NW. It gives a great kick off the pad for 0.5 sec (1250N) and then burns for over 5 more seconds at around 300N.
Here's a link to the...
Send an email to Dave Weber. He's listed on the MDRA Website under the TRA/NAR Certifications page. The links in the upper left hand corner of the home page. Great guy to work with!
+1 on the Fruity Chute. Top motch quality.
I have a 24" Fruity Chute for my 50 lb Intimidator6 and it's held up great!
Nice Harpoon! Have you flown it yet? I have a 6" version.
You could use some small machine screws to attach the body tube to nose cone shoulder. I've used 4-40 screws to do the same thing with my Garmin DC40. Do it just like nylon shear pins but used...
I've had no problems using the DC40 with 2 RRC2 minis, it's usually in the nosecone or just below the nosecone bulkpalate with the antenna going into the nosecone.
I've used the quest Q2G2's dipped in Magnelite to lite 29mm Aerotech motors. A 9V battery is more than enough for them. You'd obviously have to add on to the leads for them to reach your altimeter...
The igniter was a J-Tek ematch dipped in Magnalite and the battery was a standard 9V Alkaline.
I programmed the Raven with the following before lighting the igniter:
Time < 7 sec - If it didn't...
Thanks Larry.
cvanc, Here's some pictures:
First is the motor mount for the sustainer. I put a tube in to allow the leads for the igniter and the seperation charge to come down from the...
It was a very small BP charge. The interstage coupler volume is very small, only about 7 in^3. I used a quest Q2G2 igniter. The igniter comes with a plastic sleeve over the head of the pyrogen. I...
Spot on on all accounts. I used channel 3 to ensure seperation after booster burnout. I didn't get eyes back on the sustainer until after the drogue opened but that's what I'm assuming happened as...
Had a picture perfect flight on Saturday at MDRA's ESL 175. I used my Raven2 to its full potential and it performed flawlessly, as usual.
This is the first time I used all 4 outputs during...
Does the 54mm-5G have the 0.563" nozzle throat?
So by setting the booster motor ejection delay to 0 the booster seperates from the sustainer at booster burnout? Then by delaying the sustainer motor ignition I can simulate drift prior to lighting...
I've been wanting to build a two stage for a while now. Last build was a central 54mm with four 29mm airstarts.
I've put together a Nike-Tomahawk but been struggling with Rocksim to simulate the...
Braden,
The payload length is 48" but the lower section is 60" long. There's plenty of room for the shock cord, a drogue and a 98/15360 motor!

I built and flew the Intimidator 6 for my level 3.

It was a great kit and a straight forward build.
I certified on the Loki M1200 Spit Fire to 4,200' and she...

Thanks to all for the great info. May try a few of the suggestions but now atleast I know what the problem was!
At LDRS 31 I was prepping my X-Cellerator Avbay back at the hotel the night before I planned to fly. I installed the altimeters on the sled, made all the connections and closed up the bay. I...
