I use the ones from apogee with weld nuts. Makes it easy. I know many others drill into their CRs or put wood blocks on the CRs to add real estate to drill into.

Tape and friction fitting is the easiest, and least permanent. I've simply used small wood screws on some, it's ugly and not the best way but it works.

The bit/ delay size is normal. It digs out enough that the center will burn through at the desired time.... usually. Both my CTI and Aerotech delay drillers work this way.

This is part of the reason I'm building a coffee table with a glass top/ cabinet for my shotguns. I think it'll deliver the message.
