Biography:

I have been flying rockets since 1967. I had a break of about 40 years, so I am a BAR. I was a member of a rocket club in Houston, Texas that flew rockets inside the Astrodome on national TV on New Years Eve, 1969. I spent almost a week with Mr. Estes and his wife, and Mr. Piester and his wife driving them around and making the preparations for the launch. We flew a dozen rockets from the goal lines on each end and then at the 50 yard line, a Saturn V that was modified for a single D (back when it was still a cluster) and Mr. Estes had special "D" motors made for us so the ejection charge would go off at 190'. (The bottom of the gondola in the dome was 208'). I had a drag race between two of my large rockets, one with an F-100 and the other with a new fibreglass tube Enerjet F-52 motor at NARAM 12 in Houston, and G.Harry was the LSO who approved the birds. They were 6 feet tall, which was absolutely huge back then.
