I'd been waiting for the Nexus 7 v2 to see what it offered, but after it's release and finding that it still didn't have either an SD card slot or HDMI output, I went with this IMO fantastic $129 tablet, basically a clone of the Nexus 7 v1 with an SD card slot and HDMI output, and have been extremely pleased with it:

$15 more to get a 2 year, everything-but-stolen, 100% replacement policy (includes damage due to dropping).

I've had none of the issues identified in that article which must have been due to an early release hardware version. My battery life with a mix of HD video, browsing, downloads and gaming has been over 10.5 hours with GPS and Bluetooth off.

From the Link:

"Safety Alert: Due to federal restrictions, this item cannot be returned by mail. Before returning the item to your local Wal-Mart store, please be certain that all tanks are completely empty of any flammable liquids, if applicable. See our returns policy for more information. ".

Interesting.

Yeah, I saw that and it's a misinterpretation of the USPS restrictions on mailing lithium based batteries internationally because they go by air freight:

The correct warning "Safety Alert: Due to federal restrictions, this item cannot be returned by air mail. Customers in Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and other overseas locations can return this item to a Walmart store" can be found with this tablet:

LiPo batteries aren't supposed to be shipped by air and that's what is in every tablet I know of.

Just found this, kinda' like the Google web page for the Nexus 7. Didn't know this tablet was a Laptop Magazine Jun 2013 Editors Choice, but it deserves to be. Frankly, I am amazed that this much hardware can be bought for $129:
