Be careful how you evaluate the TV picture. Fortunately the over the air European TV standard is significantly better than the American standard which is subject to multiple path interference so your over the air broadcasts are easier to receive. If you are using free over the air TV, make sure you are watching a live TV broadcast with high signal strength actually transmitted in in 720P or 1080i (There is no broadcast in 1080P AFAIK and the visual improvements would be minimal.) If you are watch on cable, make sure the source is being broadcast in in 1080i or 720P and not a lower standard.
Check the TV specs. If you watch a lot of sports, you want 100 Hz or higher refresh rates. (On your website check https://www.argos.co.uk/static/BuyingGuide/bgTrail/tvintro_00069.htm It's pretty good.) In the 250-299 price range I only saw a few 32" TV with a higher refresh rate.
