The Radical Rocketeers will be holding their next monthly launch, Saturday August 10, 2013, from 9am to 4pm, weather permitting. The field is located in Great Meadows, NJ, just minutes from I-80 exit 19, in northwestern NJ. A 5000' waiver will be in effect for high power flights. The range will also be open for low and mid power flights. For more info see the club website at https://www.radrocketeers.org

Jose from Heavenly Hpbbies will be there. Good assortment of motors and kits.

I've been flying with GSSS for years and finally for the first time I am able to get down to the radical rocketeers launch tomorrow, looking forward to it!

I may or may not be there. I have a golf tournament tomorrow and an early morning tee-time. If all goes as planned, ill be there for the afternoon.

Met "keyhoes23" at the launch. I wish the field conditions were better as I didn't risk flying anything but did take some photos.

Great launch today, my sons and I had a great time flying some Low power stuff and seeing the high power birds go, too! Also got to launch my Mercury Atlas for the first time in awhile although the flight was less than perfect! Will look forward to launching there again sometime-

Wish the field was a bit dryer, but that's part of the hobby. It was two years ago when I got my L2 cert with the Kailyn rocket and having Kailyn there when she was a baby and today I had her with me again now she is 2 so she can see her rocket fly fast and high in the sky, she was very excited to see her rocket lift off, but not too excited on the recovery of the rocket since we had to wade through mud to retrieve the rocket, and I lost my shoes twice in the mud, that was too funny and now I'm laughing about it as I'm typing this.
It was nice seeing everyone again from Radical Rocketeers and it was great meeting isobig, sorry you missed the launch of the Kailyn rocket, I should have another motor for it for Red Glare.

I don't know how some people could think that conditions at the field today were BAD! It was a gorgeous day, one of the BEST days of this year so far.
Guess some people just can't see the good in anything, They like to be miserable !!
with close to 100 flights today, I don't think anyone else had a problem with the field!

What an absolutely fantastic day at the field,,,,,,,,,,,

you just can't beat that,,,,,,,,,,,

I had a beautiful flight,,,,,,,,,
The Altitude Seeker went to 2694 ft on an Aerotech I 435 T ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Great flight,,,,,straight as an arrow,,,,,,,,, drouge right on cue,,,,,,,main at 900 ft as set.........
And typical me,,,,,,an epic recovery ,,,,,,,lol,,,lol,,,

All of our launch days should only be this nice.................

What a great day, there was some mud on the field to navigate but the weather was perfect. There are not many places left to fly a 1/2 A and K in northern NJ so I would consider the day a big win. If it had been completely dry we would not have seen some of those great Skidmark flight.

What an awesome day!!

Finally the weather cooperated for us, and boy did we make the most of an awesome day! This is a quick note to thank everyone for making today's launch such a success! From those of you who busted your humps to set up and tear down the range, to those of you who aided your fellow rocketeer, mentoring new skills, providing new experiences, to those of you who went that extra mile to help others recover their rockets, to all of you who came out and flew! THANK YOU! You ALL rock!!

If I had an image of what I would envision an ideal launch for our club to be, today would so well illustrate it. In my book its all about giving people opportunities to fly, to share and to enjoy! I could not help but smile every time I saw the eagerness with which we all help one another. Individually we may fly, but together we soar!

I hope you all had a great time and will join us again at one of our upcoming launches. We still plan to schedule in a few bonus launch opportunities during the prime season. Dates and times to be announced. Thanks again!!

It was really a fun day yesterday with tons of flights. I got to fly my recently built LOC Aura twice. Its a fun little rocket which can really scoot. I got to kick my Wildman Jr up on an I180 skid. I closed out the day by getting to fly my Apogee Aspire on the legendary F10. It soared for what seemed like forever. I actually got it back thanks to my BRB tracker on board. It was buried deep in a tall stand of corn on the far side of the farm.

Isobig, thanks for coming out. I'm sorry, I don't think we got to meet. I'm the guy pictured out in the field in one of your pics with my tracking gear. The soft ground can be a mixed blessing. I personally like having a nice soft surface to land on. My LOC Aura for example drops in on a streamer, and it was nestled softly in one of the plowed sections each time. A nice soft landing. :) I hope you'll come by again sometime. The field is a gem in providing a great place to run the spectrum of impulse, like Mickey alluded to. And if navigating out into some parts of the farm seems intimidating at first, I or any of the many great flyers can certainly help show you the best way to your rocket, or even as I so willingly do, offer to go get them for you. :)

We'll be flying again in August for anyone else who missed the launch yesterday or is hungry for more. We are putting the final touches on setting the date for that launch and will announce it here once it is set. :)

Thanks for the kind words JimZ. I meant no disrespect to the club, land owner or anyone else. It looks like you have a great group of flyers and glad to see you all had a great time.
