Just fooling around with the 3D rendering in OR and touching up with paint.

Bad guys beware! I really love this. Red and blue LEDs in the noes cone would look great

Jeff,

Those look really nice! Have to say, even though I worked on some of this, I still can't figure out how to use it! What you guys come up with is wonderful.

How are you getting the solid appearing rockets? Is that the touch up? OR only gives an x-ray like view into body tube with the internal components, rings internal parts etc.

You do have to watch which colors you pick as the 2D drawing gets the same color. Light color parts in 3D get tough to see in 2D. Maybe add a way to change the background color.

OR needs a button to turn on or off the internal rocket view and change the background color. Then you can get a really nice idea of what your rocket will look like.

Great looking rockets. I really like the first one, needs longer swoopy fins and it will be a great drawing of the Loony Toons rocket I have been wanting to build.

See ya,
Rod

OR has a new version that enables much better 3D views, including support for texturing and decals.

Yep, this newest version of OR is what spurred me to start playing with it again. The 3D rendering takes me 99% of the way there and paint lets me add the details like hatches, portholes, stripes and text. I just started playing with the texturing last night and I see the potential for some very interesting effects.

Yep I saw that a new version was available when I opened the program. Dang and I had just hauled the computer to work to do an OS upgrade and had this reminder popped up then, I would have downloaded the new version. Guess I need to haul it to work again this weekend to get this new version of OR.

The textures will really add to the rockets I want to try.

See ya,
Rod
