Wildman Gizmo with DD upgrade piece question

I got the kit a few days back. Really good looking. But I have a mystery piece (maybe). So, I've got three fins, the two 54 mm sections, the nose cone, the fin body section, the forward section and the coupler (also the av bay). I have got the standard bulkheads, etc.

So on to the piece in question. It is the same diameter as the body (fits over the coupler). It is about 1.5 inches wide. I presume it is to be affixed midway on the coupler and act as the center of the AV bay. I can't figure what other purpose it would have.

I assume that is what it is but thought I'd get some input to make sure.

Thanks again to Wildman for great quality stuff. I'm going to have a lot of fun building this.

Look on wildmans site and follow the directions for the Gizmo XL DD. it is the same thing just bigger. That should give you an idea on how all the parts go together.

That is a ring for a vent band. You can drill holes through it instead of the body of the rocket to allow baro readings to the alt bay.
