Is anybody bringing a ladder? Or is there one at the field? If not I may just put my rocket on the away cell so I can climb the tower.
9 days till Red Glare and nobody's talking? Also if anyone needs Blastcaps come see me on the flight line I'll have all 3 sizes in stock.
One flight planned for myself so far. My SM-XMR on a CTI M2250. This will be the 5th flight of this rocket.
I'll be picking up one of our Aussie brethren from BWI on Friday night. Nic and his wife are coming all the way for Aus, in large part to fly at Red Glare! He'll be flying his "Mad Max" min. dia. N5800 rocket on a weenie KBA M1450. Nic didn't get a chance to fly at BALLS last year due to the cloud cover on Sunday. He left the rocket with me until BALLS 2013, but decided to make it to RG next weekend to have a "test flight" of sorts.
Look for us on the flight line and come say hello!

It's a long way off,, but lets hope the weather forecast is wrong for Friday and Saturday
Any folks interested in an Estes Mega Max 'mass launch' on this Saturday at Red Glare, around lunch time, please chime in here. I ran this idea past
the MDRA Board at the last monthly meeting and they said it could be doable-we should have the entire B-rack at our disposal-its usually
8 pads although we might(!) be able to expand that by 2 or 3 additional pads. We have as many as 10 - 1/4"x60" rods and/or 4 - 1010 rails depending
on what folks have on their Mega's. This would just be a fun event, no real drag race, just a one-time Mass Mega-Max launch. Think of it as ....
"The Mega Max Spring Mayhem" !! or whatever... its all unofficial...and im sure somebody will video it.
So, .... if you'll be at Red Glare on Saturday(Sunday would be our rain date(hate to even type that))...and you have a Mega Max(or 2 or whatever)and
want to toss it skyward with a few other Mega's around lunch time, say approx 1200-1300 hours, say the word !! After about 1330 or 1400hrs it tends to get real
busy(!!) on Saturday and the MDRA Board didn't like that time-frame because we would be switching some of the pads from rails to rods or vice versa and
it will delay things a bit as it is. Let me know as well if you need 1/4" rod or 1010 rail and we'll see how this goes, we do already have 3 Mega's that I know
should be there but we still have room for 5 and possibly as many as 8 more Mega's depending on how the pad alignment goes on set-up this Thursday.
..and if its popular we could try it again in October/November(Red GlareXV)..........the Mega Max Monster Dash.
Thanks,
I am in depending on how my L3 flight goes
My plan is Saturday, almost everything is prepped. Me and the boys get to the Sleep In around 8pm Friday. While the wind looks like it will be up, I will be ready to go.Micky:
When are you flying the certificationator? I want to fly Agent P then!

Really terrible cell phone picture, but I'm starting to prep "I forget the name of the rocket" for Sunday. I won't be able to make Friday or Saturday so hopefully the weather holds out.
On the ground:
2x 38-6xl J600 Reds
2x 38-4g I287 Smokey Sams
2x 38-2g H143 Smokey Sams
After first burnout:
54-6xl K815 skid
After second burnout
2x 38-5g I125 long burns.
I tried to airstart the K last Red Glare but pulled the igniter out and burned the wires with the initial motors. I'll be adding some more protection this time around.
Had a bit of an emergency with the wife so I couldn't make Friday, she's fine now though so I'll be on the field fist thing Sat morning.
