Just bought about $100 of Fiberglass stuff from US Composites. Big news coming soon!

Cleaned up all the motor casings, took inventory of old reloads, cleaned out two field boxes. Then got in my new Loki 38-740 motor and a fresh bunch of Loki reloads. Going back down to prep some rockets for Red Glare. I've got two unfinished Wildman rockets, Eagle Claw and the 3" Wildman Dual Deploy, but I'm not sure if I'll have them ready in time. Possible just the Wildman DD, Eagle Claw only has the Av-Bay done. Looking forward to launching again.......

Received my order from LOC today.

I ordered a 3" diameter av-by kit with 15" long payload bay and a 54-38mm motor adapter. Thus far I have fitted and dry assembled the av-bay kit/payload assembly. Debating if I want to use u-bolts or forged eye bolts for the av-bay. I'm leaning toward forged eye bolts to leave more space on the bulkheads for mini-terminal strips.

Took my 12-year-old nephew out to launch rockets on a way-too-windy day. We've had to put it off for two or three weeks for different reasons, so today there was no way to put it off any longer. Almost everything stayed in the park except for his rocket that he insisted on launching on too big a motor on the second launch. That drifted into the neighborhood on the wind. It's in a backyard or tree or on a roof. I let him do it, even though I warned him not to, as an object lesson to him. But of course it's going to backfire on me, because if we don't get it back, I'll probably be the one to buy him a replacement.

Called tim and did my first of at least two motor pre-orders, Involving an L910, G185 and F36. Ill probably buy another L or 2, and a Couple H's, I's and J's. I might be set on K's for a while, Definitely until URRF. It's going to be a very interesting year indeed :)

Sir iam a graduate student. and my final year project is about ROCKET NOZZLE CLOSURE. I have to design a nozzle closure for my project and analyse it using Ansys(applied numerical system simulation) software. Can you please help me in designing a rocket nozzle closure and please send me the general dimensions of a Rocket nozzle. please reply me soon. thank you.

Well not today but yesterday I received a box from Rocketry Warehouse:D

Got some 24mm retainers from https://www.rocketarium.com/ today. Within 20 minutes of ordering I had shipping info and it made it here in two days. Well done.
The BT and couplers are to fix my Xarconian that I will now fly on C6-3 instead of C6-5 motors.

Super light and minimal retainers. The bit you glue to the motor tube even has ridges to assist in the bonding. A very well made retainer.

Finished 2 more of my recent builds: a Fliskits micro Honest John with decals by Excelsior (*) and a Dynastar Orion

After taking these pictures, I began going through my inventory to see what I will build next.

(*) Since Fliskits no longer provides decals with this kit, I asked Gordon at Excelsior if he could shrink down an existing set to T3 size. He provided me with three whole copies of the operational round decals - FOR FREE! He said that since they were so small, he could produce them on scrap paper at no cost. How about that? Could you ask more from a vendor?

First set of external fillets on the 3" Darkstar. First time with ProLine4500. Managed to keep the mess to a minimum. ;) Pondered how I want the BigRedBee GPS in the nosecone. I'm still undecided.

Was at Home Depot today and bought some Dog Barf.

Made the mistake of actually asking an employee if they carried "Dog Barf' and got a very strange look. I explained it was the cellulose insulation that gets blown into place. Was directed to humongous bales of blow-in fiberglass. Explained that it is not fiberglass, it is cellulose-based and usually make from recycled paper. Was told, "We ain't got nothin' like that" by three different employees. Finally found it myself way up on a shelf with no pricing info anywhere to be seen. Turns out it was less than 9 bucks for what looks like a lifetime supply.

Painted nose cone / tracker bay today , bay is 3.5 " deep for Bigredbee tracker ,

38MM tube with centering rings showing , top side has centering ring and bulk head covering bay also added 1/4" forged eye bolt incase ever use nose cone on a different rocket

I went to the OAMC launch in South Charleston, OH today. Beautiful day, next to nothing wind and only managed to snap two fins on fourteen flights. Flew motors from 1/2A to E9, a cluster and a two stage. Not a bad day.

Not much :p Finished sanding the 15 rockets and boosters but it's way too cold to paint. Supposed to warm up middle of next week...I hope it's true. My un-flown fleet is at 37 rockets now...

Cut out some fin templates and transferred the designs to some 1/4" plywood. Gonna be for the Lil Warlock.

scored about 10ft of twisted pair twenty-something gauge stranded wire that the instrumentation folks cut off and threw away. Looks like it should work well in AV bays or as leader wire out to the cable cutter.

Free is always good!!

I did a stealth mission: sanded and added a final coat of primer to my son's Mega Der Red Max. Don't tell him. He's worked hard on it, but there were a few flaws with the fins I figured I'd help him out on--mostly at the seams of the end-butted balsa. When I get them again, it should be good for some blue metallic.

Also, fiddled with Rocksim on a few ideas for future builds --none of which will be started until June at the earliest.

Later!

Trying to tie in to this theme. I suppose the rockets red glare, Though the wrong place and time. Spent the day walking around North Boston. Wow I could eat my way through this city. Not sure how else I could tie this in. Oh yeah! Posted on TRF!

lets see, flew my dual deploy bird(first, first flight) to 1578' on an H123(AT), likewise my 'stealth' w/ an F22. stopped on my way home and gave a stranded motorist a hand w/ his RV.

Actually this was yesterday, but I ran out of time to post it. I launched rockets with family and my good friends from Woosh. Launch was at "The Bong". One of the reasons I joined a club was to meet people who enjoyed rockets as much as I do. A cherry on the top of my launch day sundae was achieving L2.
