Sharon and I will be returning for the third year in a row. We are now members of the Arizona Rocketry Team, and we will be well represented with several large rockets to fly. Sharon is building her L3 project, a Gizmo XL, and I will be flying my Ultimate Darkstar and all my other Darkstars too!

I am going to be there with my new 3" rocket, "Boom Stick." Don't ask!

I'm going to rack my 3" on the opposite end of the bank...just in case Lol.

I'll be there along with Rocketkyle...looking forward to it

I'll rack my 3" Darkstar on the other side of your rocket Kaycee. I'm also bringing my version of your tower for my Blackhawk 54 and Mongoose 75. I need to talk to Rocketkyle about my next 54mm MD rocket and the Loki 54/4000 casing that I hope to pick up at this launch.

Sounds good Wayne--looking forward to seeing your tower design! A few of us are planning a drag race using 3" MD rockets w/6000ns motors--I think the count is up to 5 rockets already

I have my Mongoose, but only planned on one flight with it. I need someone to walk me through grain bonding an M840...
I might have to negotiate with Sharon, we weren't planning on buying any more reloads at this launch, we kinda overdid it last year. Let me see what I can come up with, I might be able to join in.

I flew my Mongoose in Kansas at LDRS a few years ago on a 6000ns motor to 16K. It's a great rocket, but if it's the first flight of your 'goose you might want to chose another rack and/or time so you can watch the entire flight. Of the 5 thus far, all will be launched using research motors--that's why I want to be on the far end of the rack Lol!

I have two flights on my 'goose, L1115 to 18,770 and a totally unimpressive flight on an L395 to 17,300. It should have gotten more altitude, but laid over and flew 3 miles downrange instead.
I see what you guys are doing there, and I think I will stay up on the porch for that one. I did fill out the paperwork for the M840, might get 25k if all goes right.

You all are welcome over by camp WM,just let us know and we will save some space

WARNING Vendor is not responsible if you miss out on some really good deals. Left your money at home. Forgotten to bring GAS... Forgotten to a bring a knife to cut *Shrink Wrap* from around vehicle...and, if you wind up naked lying in a field some morning (with total amnesia ) with your underwear flying from a windsock...

Then you got too close to the light.

Stay close to the light at night but, don't go into it...;)

It's going to be a fun time AGAIN! :D

Just don't let Tim near any spare toilet paper and you'll be fine!

Just noticed a new hotel in Harper - Cobblestone Inn. A little more expensive than most on the list but looks pretty nice and closer than Wichita.

Warning #2: Never park directly in front on Tim's RV.

I did that a couple years ago. I was prepping one of my rockets from the back of my car... As I hooked up the ejection charges, Tim got into his RV and blew the horn! :y:

Do you have any idea what these things sound like when you are standing 10 feet in front of them???

I did not die on the spot, but I still suffer from post traumatic stress disorder from that event. Even after many sessions with therapists, shrinks, etc... I still have a deep feeling of imminent death every time I see an RV. I don't know for sure if it is the sound of the horn itself, or Tim's maniacal laugh that traumatized to me the most.

Anyway, if you are going to park anywhere near Tim's RV, make sure you are not visible from the driver's seat.

You will thank me for this advice.

Glenn--With that big motor filled-up with AP, Orange Crush is going to be pretty heavy and will require a few bodies to help tote it to the pads and ready it for flight.

Now you know why Chris 'invited' you :D

It DOES seem rather coincidental, doesn't it. Hmm...

hahahaha....
Now I'm really sorry but that's a good one for sure...
I really shouldn't laugh as I'm kinda jumpy by nature...
I'd have jumped clean out of my skin...

Airfest has been the #1 launch that I have always wanted to attend...
I have heard so many fantastic things about this launch...
I'm going this year...
I have put this off year after year for way too long....
I have some news for you,,
I have learned a very serious lesson in life,,,
tomorrow isn't promised...
I'm not putting this off any longer...
I really can't wait...
I was told guy's from the east are just jaw dropped when they see the field.....
I can't wait for this one...

Notice to anyone coming to AIRFest 21 (or any KLOUDBusters' event): You should be able to get $79 per night at either the Harper or Anthony Cobblestone Inns which isn't too bad now days. They started out with a $129 / night mandate from their corporate HQ and I refused to include them on our list for lodging.

They showed up at our launch site loaded for bear last weekend and I told them I wouldn't include them even for their current rack rate of $99. They told me at that point that if folks call you should get $79.

Also, please be aware that the Oak Tree Inn in Wellington has a brand new property across the street from the former one. It looks nice but I have no first-hand experience there. I will say there are MANY more options for meals in Wellington vs. Harper or Anthony. Wellington is maybe 5 miles further. If someone tries to book the Oak Tree, please let me know their rate.

We're always trying to improve the experience at the Rocket Pasture - any feedback about the lodging options listed would be helpful and appreciated so we can make informed recommendations to folks.

Thanks, --Lance.
